Nfl Draft Day 2

That may be your opinion, but if you look back at the Texans draft history and the safties we have both passed on and selected I'm still not covinced that we, or anybody else, know how the Texans grade the position.

Remember the our cry when we passed on Ko Simpson? CJ Gaddis? etc.

I'm not saying the pick is great, just that we don't know what the Texans like at S.

We do now.............Someone who can't cover, can't hit hard, can't learn the playbook, scores in the lower 10% of the Wonderlic, has poor hands, uses a wheel chair before and after games.......but has a father and brothers that can vouch for him...........:shots:

DAMN! Is this just slander or is this all true? Wheel chair, what the hell?

Not sure if anyone posted but on NFLN they talked about he was actually an ice hockey player and was brought over to football later. His coach said just like his brother Marion he appears to be a late bloomer. However Mayock reacated as though its a good pick since he does not need to come in and strat right away.

i thought only white people play that sport

it was a joke.. like what i just attempted to do

A Free Safety with a 4.71 40, you tell me.:shades:

Well, according to Richard Smith he's a SS. They see him as a "in the box" safety.

Probably, they think he can be productive right away on special teams and has a chance to become something like a Sammy Knight type at SS.

NFLN:

Dukes - Adibi is a player. Whenever he watched tape of that team, all he saw was Adibi making tackles.

Mayock - Molden is everything that DRC is. He has all the same measurables and he's from the same conference. He just didn't get the chance to play in the senior bowl. This kid could be a great pick.

Davis - Okam SHOULD have been a better player than he was. Showed up at the combine at 345 and Davis couldn't believe he was comfy at that weight.

Its not my favorite pick, but of course I was hoping or a pass rushing end opposite Mario, just in case my 50 previous posts to that effect escaped attention. However, I will reserve my ultimate judgement to see what the staff does with Barber and what they get out of him. Kind of makes you wonder that they assessed Satfey as an area of need above replacing weaver as a pass rusher!

So do we just enjoy drafting marginal safties in the later rounds? What happened to Harrisson last year?

Actually word was they still were high on Harrison, it just took longer for him to catch on since he had to wait until after school ended st Stanford to join the team so he missed alot of time with the Texans. Makes hti smove a real head scratcher!

Harrison had a hamstring issue last year and spent a fair amount of time on IR.

watching mr caleb campbell...

damn, mike hart is a colt. That ones gonna hurt more than people think....he's a MAN.

Except for the fact that the GM said he would be playing SS, that might have been funny.

I'm still willing to see how far beyond STs he can get, but I would still worry about a SS that is criticized for not being able to fend off big blockers or to consistently wrap up ball carriers............we already have some of those.

Colts just drafted Steve Justice. He fell a long way - the early mocks after the season had him as an early 2nd rounder. Plus, they took Pollak (probably the top center, though he might switch to guard). Ouch - now they got Mike Hart, also. I think the Colts did well for themselves, given their lack of a first round pick.

Well at least the Titans drafted poorly.... for the most part....

I do Not like the Eagles. Studebaker would have been nice for the Texans. Mays would have been a dominant special teamer. And I now HATE the 6th round pick. Bah!

And Mike Hart. Finally someone took him. Watch him split time and be a stud.

Actually, I think it is just over a 50/50 that he makes the opening day roster. I think Hart is likely PS material, and I do not expect him to contribute in any capacity that will make you remember him in 2 seasons.

Miami just drafted an RB from Montana named Lex Hilliard. according to several reports i've seen on him, he compares to Marion Barber III. parcells did his homework here

Some great players that are still on the board somehow:

- Brian Johnston DE 6-5, 280 Gardner-Webb
- Erin Henderson LB 6-1, 236 Maryland (X)
- Tommy Blake DE 6-3, 270 TCU (X)
- Josh Barrett SS 6-1, 223 Arizona State

I'd take a DE if one of them falls.
