Jackass of Day!
When we went for the 2 point conversion after scoring a garbage time touchdown? To me, it was absurd and ridiculous, and made us look sad.
Death to Google Ads! Texans Talk Tip Jar! 🍺😎👍
Thanks for your support!

It did not embarass me because I do not value my self-worth based on what my favorite football team does on the field.
Thank goodness.
simple maths- if we convert we're 3 scores down instead of 4
i almost turned it off...but i felt bad after walking out on the tennessee game...and i don't want to be that kind of fan. Im trying to convert my girl into a texans fan...but damn they aren't making it easy. This season, she's watched the colts game, the tennessee game, and the san diego game.
Pittman throwing the ball over Turk's head and then watching that goofy jerk run toward the ball, trip over his own legs, and watch Cromartie get a TD was about the pinnacle of embarssment for me

Its obviously convenient right now to have a snotty, elitists attitute about the Texans performance yestereday. It did not embarass me because I do not value my self-worth based on what my favorite football team does on the field.

But as for me, I can't help it but I pretty much live and die with my team so the game yesterday was down right embarrassing.
Then it sounds like you to have a superior, an indifferent attitute about the Texans performance yesterday. For you, its just a 3 hour diversion, strictly recreational.Snotty, elitists attitude?
What was snotty about TC's comments?
This is how I look at it. I'm not a player or a coach and am otherwise unaffiliated with the organization. I don't pay the kind of money it takes to go to games because I don't have it to spend on what I view as a luxury purchase and if I did pay it I could stop doing that at any time.
In other words, I do not whatsoever affect the outcome of these games which are--for perspective, completely trivial in the scheme of life next to family or the fulfillment of chasing my own personal accomplishments--so why should I be embarrassed for how a bunch of grown strangers play the game of football, just because they happen to be from my home town?
I'll happily cheer for the Texans through good and bad until doing so no longer gives me personal satisfaction. I will continue to wish them the best because it's more fun to watch winners. And I know fans who spend a lot of money on a team feel a vested personal interest, but I'm with TC when I say they may have embarrassed themselves and others yesterday, but not me.
That's what was embarrassing.the 5 yard penalty
Actually I found our entire performace liberating, as it was much easier to turn off the game and either go do something productive or hang out with my fiancee, who thinks I watch too much football.
It won't be embarrassing until I walk into work tomorrow. Funny how I get the business when they lose, and everyone's a Texans fan when they win.

However, my embarrassment comes from feeling like I'm wasting my time and money by being a fanatic of a lost cause and a crappy product for 6 straight seasons. When I think I see a light at the end of the tunnel, it turns out to be a train.
Yeah, it's funny that way. I've got 5 copies of the Houston Chronicle's sports page left on my desk today. "A total embarrassment" is the headline. I'm starting to think that the Texans need to pay me to even give a crap anymore. The players look like they've given up and don't care, so I have to ask myself over and over why do I care.
I was at a family reunion yesterday, and most of them are not football fans. But they know I'm a Texans fanatic, so they had the game on.
After watching the first half with me, they just kept asking me the rest of the day why I subject myself to it. That part is a bit embarrassing.
My own self-worth comes from things I can control, so my take is that they lost and I watched.

I agree with RJs origional take, before the deletion. He should have left it in his blog IMO.Richard Justice thought the Texans were an embarrassment to the fans, the city, your momma and just about anyone else he could think of.
For about 5 minutes.
Then he edited his blog to remove that statement. Sigh.
Tell me about it, I have a Colts fan and a Jags fan and a Dallas right next to me and I get it every friggin week. The first two weeks they did not say anything and the third I did not get much because it was the Colts, but after that it has been a total pissing contest on who can piss on me the most.
As for the reason we subject ourselves to this, because we love the sport and the team and are hoping eventually it will pay off and you can say I never jumped off, if you jump off and they turn it around you would not be happy about that either.
Although I too am guilty of it, why do we point fingers and laugh at the fans when they have NO CONTROL over what their team does? Is it like choosing the worst shirt from your closet and wearing it as if you thought it was fashionable? Is that how it goes? Are we laughing stocks because we choose to be fans of a team that's sucking? We could Easy Button it up and switch allegiences, but that's like lying about your birthplace. You can't just arbitrarily decide to be a fan of a team you have no connection too. "Oh, I'm Pats fan now...although I've never been to New England, have no relatives there and vaguely know something about the Boston Tea Party."
Seriously.
I think people laugh and point because they know you won't change your mind. Once they hear your a Texans fan they know you aren't a front runner. Bandwagon? You couldn't find one around here.
My friends laugh at me because they KNOW I will be a fan forever. Good thing is most of my friends around here are Dolphins fans ha ha ha.

For me, I'm a real fan. Like I said, I live and die with the team and its performaces, so to speak. It's much more than just 3 hours out of the day on Sundays for me.

I came to grips with how much stuff like this affects me. I literally got so worked up over the Falcon's loss, that I got sick to my stomach...then suddenly it hit me.
Why on earth do I put THAT much into something that has ZERO affect on my life, or the outcome of it. I then started prioritizing what was more important to me right now, and soon it all came into perspective.
It's just a game. They're just a team. They happen to be the team I root for, but win or lose, it don't reposition my standing in life one iota.
Bandwagon...I think not.
Realist...most definitely.
Alrighty...start the tomato toss!
Stanley would have covered that ball.
At halftime I started watching SpongeBob Square Pants with the kid. I tell you I bet I had more fun than most of you in the second half.
