OB has always maintained it was a contract issue. Period. BTW can’t find the post but thought you asked who is Martin. Looked him up and read some Seattle papers too. Martin is going to be the better of the pickups, IMO. I’ve never been a fan of Mingo. Martin is from Houston. He’s a cowboy. Carroll loved him. Said as a rookie he took his lumps and learned quickly. Said he’s high energy and active. Said if you put him in a game long enough good things are going to happen so he was really looking forward to seeing him this year. Recorded 3 sacks, 8 QB hits and 2 FF in limited action. As a sixth rounder and limited time he was in the top 20% all time for sacks by a sixth rounder for what that’s worth. He did outplay the guy drafted three rounds ahead of him per sources.

Biggest reasons Bill O’Brien is still the head coach of the Texans:

- players play their ass off for him
- Deshaun Watson publicly backed him

This is the kind of stuff NFL head coaches lose locker rooms over.

Congratulations JD Clowney on using the leverage people said you didn’t have to get what you wanted and for sticking it to OB. Now go out and have a pro bowl year and make that money.

Shame on the Seahawks for taking advantage of our poor mentally weak HC/GM. You just traded two guys you were going to cut and a third round pick for what was your biggest weakness know if he leaves after next year you will get that third round pick back. So in essence you gave the Texans two guys that weren’t good enough to be on a roster for an elite Edge guy. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I wish clowney well. He played hard for this team and was productive. although he didn’t become a game changer like Aaron Donald he was still damn good. I don’t think we got equal value for Clowney but that’s par for the course with this incompetent rudderless organization. Fat travolta is leading this team into a iceberg.

You didn’t have a point to prove. McNair ain’t saving that money. You actually think Texans were going to sign Clowney in the 130million range while working on a contract to make DW one or the most highly paid players in the NFL.
 
When I first heard the word of a trade to Seattle, like the Apostle Peter I was excited. However when I stepped out of the boat into reality I also sank.
I'm hopeful a trade for a left tackle is still on. If O'Brien was possibly willing to trade Clowney plus the first round to Miami perhaps he would still trade first round and our now two third rounds for TWill? Perhaps he will use the cap space to offer more money to the Washington player. On a bright note I have not heard Watt, Hopkins, Watson demanding trades. On a less bright note, it's still the weekend.
 
Seattle went 10-6 last year...the addition of Clowney makes them better..but I’m not entire sure how much better in the win column. The Rams are still the rams and barring injury they will win the division again.

After I get over this period of extreme rage, it’s going to be followed by extreme happiness. OB will likely be fired. Maybe we’ll finish with the stupid Pats south experiment. And maybe, just maybe, the McNair’s will sell. But hey, that’s a pipe dream
 
glad lazy clowney is gone. can't even break 10 sacks with JJ Watt next to him. can't cover anyone always giving up 1st down. only good for run D. not worth money he's demanding. motivated clown is still less than 10 sacks a season while having all pro next to him. lmao

seahawks won't even win 10 games next year just because their division has rams and they will see how bad of player clowney is. cant' defend pass to save his life. drawing flags. texans needs hard workers who will do every little things. not like lazy clowney who can't even be consistant as number 1 pick overall.
