Man Mario was in the backfeild a couple of times now, people are just picking on him now.

This defense is rocking. Joseph has locked down his side of the field, although it doesn't matter because Smith is really bad...still though last year ANY NFL QB would have torn us apart. This year it ain't happening.

are you drunk again? He has been putting pressure on the QB the first half. Looks alot more comfortable and actually showed more moves than just a bull rush...

The front 7 are also forcing some bad throws. The defense is rocking up front.

I missed most of the 1st quarter, but other than that...seen on near miss by MW. Seen lot's of other players making plays. Are you suggesting MW is a decoy like RB was with the sAints?

Horsecrap. Mario has been disruptive this game. He's hit the quarterback multiple times. You must have Mario whining mad libs on your computer.
 
The offense looked good when they could manage to hold on to the ball. The defense though is what impressed me. Yeah, the 49er's are not a hot team, but still. It looks like our defense this year will, at least, not be rock bottom in the NFL.

Literally night and day last year and I'm saying it now...the Cush is back! The 3rd and 1 that was stuffed, that was Cushing flying through the middle and making the play. Was really glad to see that.

Also...JJ Watt is a beast, but I think we all know that by now. So is Smith, gotta give him some props too.
 
Off the wall question at halftime: Did anybody ever figure out if that was Bum Phillips that took a spill on the sidelines last week?

Yep, I've got your TV feed also. He may not have any fancy stats so far, but his playing and getting in the backfield. I don't think people realize that he requires enough attention that it helps free up others. I've been a critic of his at times, but this first half isn't one of them. He's busting his ass and showing effort out there. Preseason or not, I haven't seen him taking plays off.

The 49rs seemed to have mostly 2nd teamers in after the beginning of the 2nd quaarter

Yeah, I'd rather have a Brooks Reed in there for 1.5 million than a MW for 14.8 million. Seriously, if we could trade him for an actual OLB, I think it would be worth it. He's too tall, too slow, and lacks the quickness needed to play on the outside. He's a mediocre OLB (at best) but an excellent 4-3 DE, and that's where he belongs. A team like Denver that converted from 3-4 to 4-3 could send us Dumerville and a draft pick for MW and both teams would improve. Let Dumerville be our Ware and let MW be their Peppers.

I guess MW's prowess at WOLB eluded the stats guys too, cuz they don't show up. This is the NFL, close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades and Mario William stats.
 
I'm going to chime in with the support-Mario crowd here. Mario played well getting multiple pressures on the QB, which is exactly what he is supposed to be doing. Sacks are icing, pressure is the cake.

I like the adjustment Wade made. He's moved Mario up to the line of scrimmage just like a 4-3 DE. If nothing else he's forced double teams opening up space for Barwin & Smith. I don't care what they call him long as results are positive.

Yeah, there were some mistakes on offense. But both the defense and offense dominated. I've seen enough to get happy. Bring on the Colts!
