Question to my fellow texans fans: Merriman

Do you think that texans should go after Merriman if he is released today by the chargers. I dont think this could solve our defensive problems but i think it would improve our pass rush and our linebacker core. Any improvement on defence is better than what we have. My question is do you think you would be a good pick up and if he is it it even possible for the texans to grabb him.
 
Yes. Why not? We did not get much of a pass rush on Manning. Merrimen may be washed up...or he may be one of those Chargers players that the Chargers thought was washed up.

I'd say give it a shot. Too bad I'm not expecting it to happen.

Yea our coaching staff isnt really proactive during the season. we will probably bring up some practice players that wont help us. Chargers let go of LT and look what he is doing. It would be nice if Merriman could do the same

He'll probably end up with the Titans, where he will revive his career. They seem to be good at that.
 
He's had 'issues'. Ours is not a team that can deal well with a player that's had 'issues'.
 
The Texans will not even consider Merriman which is the real problem here. I don't mind that they might not choose to sign him. I am upset that they will not even seriously consider it. This is an organization that moves like a glacier. The Texans don't just avoid thinking outside the box. They aren't even aware that the box has an outside.

-Hes not a char guy the texans like
-His play on the filed is not the same has before
-Hes a shell of his former self
-Hes not a gamer

People said the same as the above about LT and Thomas Jones this year. It happens every year. Just because someone isn't playing as well as previous years doesn't mean their washed up (Brad Lidge). Bring him in, work him out, and then decide if he is better than what we have at either side.

Merriman to be a bill per dam Schefter

As Fox reported, Bills are set to claim LB Shawne Merriman. Unless Buffalo changes its mind, Merriman will be a Bill. 23 minutes ago
