Female reporter: Jets made me 'very uncomfortable'

sports-reporters-ines-sainz-epic-hot-sports-reporter-demotivational-poster-1233164669.jpg

If that were a cliff wall...I would want to be the T-Rex fossil embedded in it.

Honestly, I think she's overrated anyway. Nice, but overrated.

Now that I think about it, that's the worst thing we could say anyway. That's what she would hate. That, and all the guys in those locker rooms ignoring her like she's just another homely girl.

M0†H3®ƒü¢K3R! That's the kind of woman whom you hope will give you a fatal heart attack so that your friends will crown you a legend in death.

The dream of all true men. To die coming and going at the same time. She might just help you on your way...

Oh good LORDY!! I gotta chime in on this! FIFTEEN minutes of fame! PERIOD!!

If you go around looking like a SLUT don't be offended when someone says something about you!!

WHY was "Mr Portis" comments inappropriate, offensive, and have no place in the NFL??? You want to be a female SPORTS reporter, take the heat!! This is all BS and really ticks me off! Next step? Lawsuit!! ***** will come out smelling like one!

OK!! I know I'm OLD and nowhere near 24, but, what the hell does "she looked fly as hell" mean? I'm serious, I have no idea what you're talking about!:mcnugget:

Yeah right. If I was Portis and already had a stake in this I'd go back and tell Gooddell to either quit sending damn good lookin women into the pit of all that is testorone or everyone can get over it when a man lets a lady know what he's thinkin....

Automated response mail. Texans' Talk poster Dreadford Headdington III (better known as "Dread Head" ) is currently hospitalized with sprained eyes and a recovering from hotmexicanass induced cardiac arrest. Dread Head is expected to make a full recovery and is currently in the care of a small Filipino nurse named Angelica Ramos. Ms. Ramos is known for her bright smile, charming bedside manner and ghetto booty.

Man, Clinton Portis got taken to the woodshed by Tony Wyllie (Former Texans public relations dude or something like that).

And Portis didn't even say anything BAD, IMO. He was just saying that this lady is not exactly "reporter" material in the atmosphere she goes venturing into.

I swear, the lengths people go to in order to try and make themselves look saintly while tearing down others as being evil is just sickening. I feel sorry for Portis. He usually makes really bad decisions with his words, but this time he has wisdom and he's getting blasted for it.

The Redskins are now embroiled in THIS mess. Which means another distraction to deal with. That's goooood for us Texans fans. We'll take every little edge we can get on each team.

That's what makes me mad right there.

The crap she's wearing (for jeans) is SOLELY meant to produce ONE FREAKING RESPONSE. Period. Oh, OK. I get it. I'm supposed to listen to her and enjoy her statements? Sure. Yeah. OK. Uh huh. Not. She is bad mojo. Period.

But then get this: Portis, by gawd, is evil for saying what he said? Geez Louise this has got to be a sign of the End Times or something. Up is down, down is up. Left is right, right is left. etc. etc.

So this is how the 2010 NFL season will be remembered. THIS is what people will talk about when they point back to the year of 2010 in terms of what marked the NFL season. This lady. This Big Butt Lady with dee broking eenglish acksceent who says tings in, how you say, ummm...ummm...giggly ways!

Never underestimate the power of the ONE misfit to somehow hijack the only thing left for us guys: NFL football. There's always some jackass out there, or a wife, or a piano recital, or a funeral, that steals that away from us. Never ceases to amaze me.

Is there like a Jackass Event Coordinator at the NFL who is in charge of making sure one year we get Janet Jackson and Justin Timerblake DOOMING all future halftime shows? Does the staffer sit down and decide things such as Big Butt Lady making a scene out of nowhere, over NOTHING of real importance or value to the game itself?

Are there meetings in the league office RIGHT NOW where interns sit around and draw up the next big idea, such as "Hey, OK I got it! How about next year, we put a drunk dude in the stands and have him PUKE, purposefully, on several fans? Huh? Major League Baseball already did that? Seriously? Dang it. I thought that was a good one. Well, crap. NOW what do we do? This job is harder than I thought it would be. All the good ideas are already being used."

Things like this don't happen by themselves. Call me a tinfoil hat guy. I don't care.

That THIS lady came here, and THIS big of a deal is being made, reeks of intent by somebody somewhere.

It's textbook media manipulation to get 15 minutes of fame. Period.

OOOPS! I said "Period" in this thread. Maybe Tony Wyllie will contact me and make me produce a phony, canned statement about how I regret my comments. Yeah, that's what makes everything right: A phony, half-hearted statement of regret for my actions. :barf:

Stop it! Would I kick her out? No, but stop it! - Mike Golic

I just wore out the other side of my pillow. - Stuart Scott

Of course she can dress like that! - B. Obama on The View

But I question the wisdom of it. - B. Obama to NOW hours and miles later.

Better than eating grass in Houston. - P. Manning

[incoherehnt sobs] - Dick Vermeil

I'd hit it. - Jay Mariotti

Meh, I know. But it's 5:00 in the morning and that's all I got. :worldpeace:

The only thing that made her uncomfortable are those jeans!!!

And the only thing tighter than her jeans....are MY jeans!!!!!!!!

Uh ohz, now I'm ins the trouble.

Clinton Portis is in trouble for appreciating the look of someone who clearly wants the attention, saying "Either I look or you leave" but Jimmy Johnson is in the clear for using his NFL related fame to sell penis pills. "They work for him." I just don't get it.

What exactly did Portis say? That if a woman goes into a locker room and is surrounded by 50 naked male athletes, that she's likely to be attracted to at least one of them?

Is that wrong?

The wife and I were discussing this last night. The fact that men aren't allowed in womens locker rooms was brought up. We came to the conclusion that NO media should be allowed in the locker room. I think a locker room is a lot like Vegas. What happens in a locker room, stays in a locker room. These vultures can get their interviews as the players walk out.

I agree with you and your wife. I never saw the purpose of reporters IN the locker rooms. Catch them when they come out. I don't want people in my face with microphones when I'm trying to get into the shower.

I don't have a problem with a female reporter being in the locker room, if they're not it will be a lot harder for them to get an interview. But if they're a credentialed reporter, they've got to be just as professional as anyone else, including the players. They've got to dress appropriately. Maybe she can get away with what she wears at soccer games or wherever, but if she's going to be a guest in an NFL locker room, she should dress like a respectable reporter. This isn't second rate stuff anymore, the NFL is big time... act like you belong there and people will take you seriously.

I don't condone if players/coaches act overly inappropriate but it's like leaving your iPod on the front seat of your car. Chances are someone will see it and break in to get it. She needs to put her ass and boobs in the glove box, so to speak.

And if Portis gets in trouble for that? sheeeet that's just dumb. He's totally legit saying hey there's a chick in there looking at our junk. She might see something she likes.

The NFL allows this stupi*ity, so let the NFL pay for it!

Let me in that damn locker room!! I'll get you dudes all the FOOTBALL info you'll ever want!! Nice little, ooops BIG, old grandma who can sweet talk those players into telling me anything!! I can pat them on the ass, give um a little grandma massage, stroke their massive biceps, and have them purring like little wuzzies!! Just a little grandma TLC!!!:smooch:

I just can't wrap my mind around how THIS lady, wearing what she wears, and being known for how she goes about her business, ends up in the realm of NFL.

It's so bizarre.

Perhaps THE most asinine event to have taken place in the NFL since Boobgate during the Super Bowl when there was a "wardrobe malfunction."

The NFL needs to come up with a conduct policy for all persons who access or enter NFL franchise facilities (such as a locker room). Make them adhere to guidelines, and obviously make sure they wear appropriate attire. That's gonna' include NOT wearing jeans that are painted onto your legs.

Then, you have each franchise designate a Watch Dog person whose sole job is to make sure person with access are going about their business professionally. Will it be tedious? Yes. Will it cause rifts? Yes.

But if I were Portis, I would consider suing the NFL for sexual harassment. Throw it back in their face. Who cares if you lose the case, as long as attention is driven toward the NFL and how it allows people into an area where you're trying to get naked and get a shower after having done your job for your employer.

Times have changed. And yet you've got players like Portis who probably feel they're in a no-win situation. It's a joke. If they have to be all Politically Correct with what they say, then the NFL needs to provide their players with the opportunity to not fall into the traps that are being set by this P.C. environment that's all around us. Don't set guys up to fail, in other words.

It's just wearing me smooth out.

Listening to 97.5 on the way to work, Cowherd made a good point about her being professional T&A, not a serious reporter. He also called her an insult to female reporters.

Tried to rep ya GP, but have to spread rep!

Can't understand why the media is trying to make this chick a victim! Un-freaking-believable to me!

Wish I knew how to reack Clinton Portis! I'd let him know that some females agree with what he had to say.

She said that she noticed errant footballs kept landing around her forcing players to come near her to retrieve them. Of course if anybody watched Sanchez Monday night it is obvious that those passes landing near the television reporters were probably by accident.:spin:

Also, when Sanchez said her dress was cute, it was all innocent. Don't think he bats from that side of the plate...

I thought she told an ESPN Deportes reporter that she was shocked at how much attention she was getting - that she never said that she felt "harrassed"

She didn't report it to anyone.

It was a male reporter that went to the Association for Women in Sports Media.

She said on DeporTV:

In my opinion, I never felt I was attacked. I went to the locker room and started to talk about commentary and sports. Another reporter approached me to say he was sorry these things were happening…and that evidently people were making fun of me.

When asked about all this controversy on the Today Show, she said:

I don’t even pay attention.

She's a woman proud of her image and sensuality.

She doesn't sound like she's offended or upset. She doesn't sound like she's threatening litigation over it. At least not now, not yet.

As for the comment earlier about her 15-minutes of fame. She's had a lot more than 15 minutes' worth, worldwide. Because of her image and her sensuality, she's been a global sports reporting staple.

I find it interesting that there are people who are mad at the media for jumping to conclusions - but some of those same people are jumping to conclusions about Inez in this case.

This entire story is being sensationalized. Portis's comments are being sensationalized - frankly, I didn't think his words were all that offensive. I think it was a bit silly. I think there are people who can manage to conduct themselves in a professional manner, even while interviewing nude people.

But is the reaction overblown? I think so.

I think there's a lot of sensationalizing going around this entire story - from the male reporter who went to the AWSM to the Jets front office to the NFL front office to Clinton Portis... and to some in this thread.

I think it's an interesting topic to discuss generally, but the ad hominem attacks on Ines Sainz seem a bit off target.

I think a locker room is a lot like Vegas. What happens in a locker room, stays in a locker room. These vultures can get their interviews as the players walk out.

John Lopez asserted this morning that men are allowed in some female locker rooms and used the WNBA as an example. He also said this is an NFL decision that on game day reporters have guidelines for catching them on the field or in the locker room.

She said that she noticed errant footballs kept landing around her forcing players to come near her to retrieve them. Of course if anybody watched Sanchez Monday night it is obvious that those passes landing near the television reporters were probably by accident.:spin:

McClain said this morning that the incident was instigated by Rex Ryan who encouraged several players including Jason Taylor to throw balls close to her.

Boy people sure are trying to split some hairs on the clothing issue and it's really pretty silly. It's the girl not the clothes. Like this reporter isn't using her assets:

Sex appeal sells, and Ines Sainz is obviously a pro at selling it. I don't begrudge her using it, but the double-standard in our society is mind-boggling stupid. She wants to be known for being a "model reporter", but the rest of her media peers seem ready to pounce on anyone that acknowledges her obvious assets.

Let's be honest here: there is only one reason she's well known, and I doubt it's her in-depth analysis of sports and adept interview skills. Sports reporting was not some lifelong pursuit of her dream job (she's got a masters in tax law). I'm sure being a contestant in the Miss Universe beauty pageant led to this current gig.

It's football season, and yet the media is focusing on whether football players should be nude in the freakin' locker room. I think we have warped into Bizarro World, and goofiness now substitutes for intelligence among the media class.

Just curious, but was she only interviewing the player with a Hispanic last name? If so, how come nobody is pointing out her obvious racial preference here?*

:fingergun: *Because hot chicks can't be racists!

Must spread rep on me too...Geeze!

All I gotta say is...the buldge in my pants gets "very uncomfortable" when viewing these pics.

Had one dope-head not gone and tried to be a whistle-blower, none of this would be happening right now.

The whistle-blower is the one to blame.

We're just responding to it. Don't go gettin' on our cases about it. We're just fed up with the fallout from this. So we're commenting on the absurdity of it all.

We also feel the NFL and the Redskins are blowing things out of proportion, too. Maybe the Redskins should STHU since they ought to be apologizing about the offensiveness of their team's name: The REDSKINS.

Note to Ines. When you proclaim yourself as 'the hottest sports reporter in Mexico' you won't and should not be taken seriously. You just crapped all over your credability. I am not saying the players were right in treating her that way. She has made a career on her looks. She dresses like this for attention and attention is what she got. Now she will get much more attention and exposure for being a victim. Hey Ines you are supposed to be a reporter going into a MENS LOCKER ROOM you are not going out to The Roxy, this is not a tele novela or Sabado Gigante. Some of this is on her, but she doesn't get it which tells me she is arrogant or just plain dumb.

Females in the sports media world should all wear burlap sacks and look like my great aunt edna or else they are being "too sexy with it".

The obvious nefarious reporter here is the douche who went to that association trying to speak out on Inez's behalf.

Exactly! People are over looking the fact that she did not bring this story out, and was surprised when it made the news.

From reading her tweets (or the translations of them) it sounds completely different than what the media first reports. Surprise surpise huh!?

We have learned that the reporter in question is Inés Sainz of Mexian TV Azteca. She actually tweets about her experience meeting Mark Sanchez and how it went in the Jets Locker room.

Here is a translation of the Spanish Tweets (copies of Tweets can be seen below).

First tweet about Jets She says, “Me muero de incomodidad! Estoy en los lockers de los jets esperando por Mark Sanchez y mientras tratando de no mirar a ningun lado!!

Trans: ”I’m so uncomfortable. I’m in the lockeroon waiting for Mark Sanchez trying not to make eye contact.”

Second Jets tweet, “Solo porq es la unica forma de entrevistarlo previo al partido de el lunes!! Pero demasiada hormona masculina en el entorno!!”

Trans: ”Here because its the only way to interview him(Sanchez) before the game Monday. There is lots of male hormone in this environment.”

Third Jets tweet, “Lo siento pero ni de broma sacaria una foto de esto!! Si ni volteo!! Solo veo el locker de Mark y me quisiera taparme los oidos!!”

Trans: ”I’m sorry, not even joking would I take a picture of this. I don’t even dare to turn around. I all I see is Mark’s locker but still want to cover my eyes.”

Fourth jets tweet, “Mision cumplida!! Mark Sanchez es una gran persona! Muy amable e inteligente!! Mañana pueden ver su entrevista en Ritual NFL!!”

Trans: ”Mission ccomplished(interview). Mark Sanchez is a great guy. He is smart and intelligent. You can see his interview tomorrow in Ritual NFL“

Based off the tweets while Sainz was waiting for Sanchez is when the shenanigans went down. She seems more embarrassed than offended, but you never know with just tweets.
http://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/artic...perience_in_new_york_jets_locker_room/3211810

As little as you can tell what a person means when texting/tweeting etc. It seem to me she was uncomfortable and embarrassed b/c she was in the locker room of a bunch of neckid football players. Not that she was offended by how they were acting.

If I were in the locker room of a bunch of attractive female soccer players I'll admit I would be pretty uncomfortable and slightly embarrassed, particularly if I was the only male. With that said, I would enjoy every minute of it. :)

McClain said this morning that the incident was instigated by Rex Ryan who encouraged several players including Jason Taylor to throw balls close to her.

I had a lot of respect for him last season, but Rex is really starting to get on my nerves.

The more TV time that guy gets, the more he reminds me of Jerry Glanville. It wouldn't surprise me if his career takes a similar path.

The whistle-blower is the one to blame.

We're just responding to it. Don't go gettin' on our cases about it. We're just fed up with the fallout from this. So we're commenting on the absurdity of it all.

what are you talking about? You quote me but it doesn't sound like you're actually responding to anything I've said.

My point was that the anger directed to Ines, specifically, is off target.

I acknowledged that this is an interesting topic to talk about generally - but if you're going to talk about it I don't understand why all the anger and insults directed at Ms. Sainz when it seems like she's not the one who is sensationalizing this.

You want to go after the male reporter who did it, fine. Cool. I never said he wasn't the one to blame. In fact, I think I pretty much indicated that he was the one to blame.

If, instead of going after him and the fallout, you start making comments about how she's using the event for 15 minutes of fame or an impending lawsuit - that's what I don't understand.

You want to comment on the absurdity of it all? Make a general statement about the predatory media? Cool.

Like I said, I'm not sure what you're so upset about when it looks like we're in agreement about where "blame" for this should be directed.

I don't get it...

International female sports reporters (even those conservatively clothed) are commonly exposed by both players AND fans to what we would consider OVERT sexual harassment. They certainly are aware of how their state of dress or undress affect response to their "presence."

Watch this VIDEO. of a reporter with a conservative "presence."
