Female reporter: Jets made me 'very uncomfortable'

Hervoyel

BUENO!
Interesting stuff. So apparently you bring a female reporter around a bunch of athletes and they act inappropriately? Who knew?

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...ade-me-very-uncomfortable?module=HP_headlines

So "Woody Johnson" the Jets owner (I can't make fun of that, it's just too easy) says he expects all of his players to act in a professional manner. I hear he's bringing in a man of the cloth to help them control themselves.

TDJakesLookatTheBooty.gif

I just looked this woman up on Google (I worked 32 hours this weekend on an Exchange server so I might be a little behind the news) and I think I just became the proud owner of a "Woody Johnson". This post ends now before it has to find it's way to the Babe of the Day Thread.

Understood. Ines Sainz is that damn HOT!!!

Not to mention she advertises herself as "the world's hottest sports reporter." I have a really difficult time believing she was treated any ruder in the NYJ locker room that at a typical Mexican soccer game.

Very good point.

Maybe it's just the picture, but she looks old in the first one. Like 35, had facelift/botox and I'm trying to look 25 kind of old.

"Thanks to everyone for their support and concern!" Sainz tweeted Monday. "I already spoke to the NFL and it will be up to them to decide whether or not there will be consequences!!"

What - exactly - happened to her? This little smug tweet by this tart just rubs me the wrong way. It's just so...arrogant and smarmy.

She's a hot female in a male locker room. She cannot compare freakin' soccer players to NFL players. It's just not even close to the same athlete. Soccer players are, like, soft and all, rolling around on the field after getting tripped. NFL players are trained grizzly bears, some like sharks, and others like killer whales. They eat bowls of nails and slam heads into lockers. Soccer player is waiting for his juice box and orange slices. [/sarcasm]

All joking aside, I'd really like to know what she's whining about and what did she expect. I'm not justifying any particular behavior, especially without details, but jeesh, the football locker room is awash in testosterone, gasoline, and napalm. Let's not turn the last bastion of male fury into a Build-a-Bear with roasting marshmallows and rounds of Kum-By-Yah.

Why did she have to be inside the locker room? Why can't the team just have a press room where reporters wait for their subject to be interviewed? Is she really upset because they threw a ball around her?

A high quality gallery of the Mexican sports reporter Ines Sainz Gallo. Before entering the world of sports Ines studied Law at the University of the Valley of Mexico in Querétaro and achieved a Masters Degree. After leaving university she opted for TV presenting instead of law. At The World Cup in Germany 2006 she became very popular with male viewers and sports stars due to her sexy outfits and flirtatious interview techniques. She currently presents Dxtips every Sunday on the Mexican station Aztec 7.

While there is a line that dudes should not cross, but if she is using her looks and attitude to further her career then she problem should expect more borderline stuff than say Shelley Smith.

I generally come to the defense of women in situations where guys use the "we can't help it excuse" but:

1) She obviously uses her sex appeal for her benefit
2) She is known to be flirtatious
3) Nothing actually happened? She just said she was uncomfortable?

She needs to stfu and go away.

Its like when a woman wears a very low cut shirt with her cleavage all exposed and then gets mad when you notice.

QFT. I'm generally not one who "blames the victim" because of how they dress, but really, if you are *trying* to build your career based on looking like a sex object, why would you be surprised when you are treated like one?

Obviously that would never excuse sexual assault, but if you dress to be noticed, well, don't complain because you were noticed...

See what Anita Martini started?? :fingergun:

hmmmm....it appears that the whining came from other members of the media, not necessarily from Ines Sainz.

Here's the CNN version:

New York Jets kick off season facing harassment claim <---link

Sainz, being her own Monday morning quarterback, addressed the concerns in an interview with a TV Azteca reporter, saying while she was embarrassed, she didn't realize it was going to become that big of a deal.

Sainz told her colleague that she did notice that footballs were being thrown her way but, “to be quite honest, it didn’t bother me… I took it as a joke, and none of the footballs actually hit me.”

“It was definitely a joking tone, very amicable," Sainz said, regarding the tone Sanchez had with her. “I wasn’t offended.”

But she did say in the interview that she didn't hear everything said about her - and apparently several other members of the media took the interactions much more seriously. She added perhaps they heard something she hadn't.

“I was surprised to wake up on Sunday and have a call from the NFL , saying that they wanted to talk to me about what had happened at the Jets; and I asked… what happened?" Sainz told TV Azteca. "And they said well there is a pretty powerful accusation of harassment and then it was at that point I realized the magnitude of what had happened. “

The NFL says it’s investigating and The Association for Women in Sports Media says the Jets and the league have been responsive to their concerns. They also say on their website that they plan to hold an educational session for the Jets this week or next.

Could a member of the media from say, Baltimore, have started this "controversy"? :hmmm:

Looks like the NFL is just CYA right now, especially with the mighty Association for Women in Sports Media on this story. Can't upset the sponsors now, can we?...

Is it harassment if they don't say it directly towards her?

Or is it gossip and hearsay?

Like if I work in an office and me and one of my male co-workers are in the lunch room casually talking and I say "damn, Sally is fine...I'd do her"...But I never actually act on my feelings in any situation pertaining to the work place...

Is that harassment?

She didn't even know there was an issue until someone called her to bring it to her attention.

Political Correctness run amok, episode # 12,967,598.

Acting like a teenage jackass in front of reporters is DUMB and is just asking for trouble, regardless of the situation.

More pics for those of us that are visual learners...Google Pics

Yes, I looked; no, I don't regret it; and, no, she's got NO right to complain unless guys were literally grabbing at her. That tweet/threat she made should in reality get her sued (for some petty amount) just to put her threatening little sex show in its place. Womens' lib. was fine, but now it's womens' RULE.

If she doesn't want to put up with it, she shouldn't be in an NFL locker (dressing) room, and she dang sure shouldn't be selling sex and showing her bare breasts, etc. on the internet..........................yes, they're in the link. :)

Just a question, not intending to start a gender war: Are men even allowed in women's locker rooms to cover sporting events?

Seconded. I'm 45 and I can't think of a single thing to complain about here.

Her mugg is not the greatest...the body is on point. I don't think she will ever have to worry about being "uncomfortable" in another NFL locker room because she won't be invited back. I thought we had killed this locker room problem long ago and why do they have to interview in the locker room anyway? Just wait until the guys get showered and dressed and interview elsewhere. I can find a hotter sports reporter and she better be glad Joe Namath wasn't in that locker room. This chick loves and wants the attention that she is getting.

Many of us have seen an NFL locker room with the Texans allowing us to tour via All Access. They are not very big, and I can only imagine the chaos when the entire team is trying to get ready with coaches and trainers and all the craziness that probably goes on in there.

Personally, I think teams should honor the locker room as a sanctuary for players. Why are reporters even allowed in there to begin with? They should keep the press in a meeting room for press conferences and smaller rooms for one-on-one interviews. The last place that big, burly, and mean football players should have to worry about being PC-pansy compliant is the locker room. JMO *grunt*

Now Portis is in trouble for commenting on the situation
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/13946293/nfl-portis-remarks-about-newswomen-offensive

WASHINGTON (AP) - Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis, known for his outspoken viewpoints, had plenty to say on the radio Tuesday about women reporters in NFL locker rooms.

The league swiftly condemned his comments as inappropriate and offensive.

Addressing the NFL's investigation of the New York Jets' treatment of TV Azteca reporter Ines Sainz, Portis said that both sides have wandering eyes when the sexes are mixed in such a setting.

"I think you put women reporters in the locker room in position to see guys walking around naked, and you sit in the locker room with 53 guys, and all of the sudden you see a nice woman in the locker room. I think men are going to tend to turn and look and want to say something to that woman," Portis said in his weekly appearance on 106.7 The Fan.

The Jets are being investigated by the NFL after a few players made catcalls directed at Sainz on Saturday while she was waiting to interview quarterback Mark Sanchez. Also, an assistant coach seemed to deliberately throw the ball to players who were near Sainz during a practice drill.

Portis said he wasn't aware of what went on with Sainz, but he offered his opinion on what he considered to be a female reporter's perspective.

"You know, somebody got to spark her interest, or she's going to want somebody. I don't know what kind of woman won't, if you get to go and look at 53 men's (bodies)," Portis said. "I know you're doing a job, but at the same time, the same way I'm going to cut my eye if I see somebody worth talking to, I'm sure they do the same thing."

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league quickly addressed the player's remarks with the Redskins.

"The comments are clearly inappropriate, offensive, and have no place in the NFL," he said in an e-mail. "We have contacted the Redskins and they will discuss the matter directly with Mr. Portis."

The Redskins did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

In the past Portis has riled teammates and coaches when speaking his mind. He uncharacteristically stayed out of the spotlight through this year's training camp and preseason, and earlier in his radio appearance he talked about how much he was enjoying his new "low profile."

Those words might be offensive to some, BECAUSE THEY ARE DEAD, FACTUAL TRUE. Only way they could not be true is if she were too old to have any sex drive at all. You can tell that isn't true by looking at her.

Somebody needs to give Portis a "man" award or something.

What a bunch of PC mumbo-jumbo poo poo. Seriously???

The NFL - a league representing a brutal sport - sells sex appeal all the time. Just look at the hot pants that cheerleaders wear to every game (and I'm not complaining).

This is just double-standard CYA pansy crap. Goodell is Mr. Nanny "protecting the shield" in order to save the integrity of profits. He's a freakin' puppet.

Props to Clinton Portis for calling it like he sees it, which is probably like 99% of American men see it, as well.

I'm reminded of a joke. What's the difference between a slut and a *****?

I have no idea what the punch line is because I would never condone such jokes. ;)
