T.O. is a Bengal

Ryan

THIS YEAR
CINCINNATI (AP)—The Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to a contract with receiver Terrell Owens(notes), who is expected to report to training camp in a couple of days, a person familiar with the situation tells The Associated Press.

Owens wanted to play for the Bengals, who offered a deal on Monday looking to add another deep threat to their offense. He accepted the offer on Tuesday, said the person who confirmed the deal, speaking on condition of anonymity because the team had made no announcement.

The Bengals report for training camp Wednesday in Georgetown, Ky. Owens is expected to arrive for the first day of workouts Thursday.

Receiver Chad Ochocinco(notes) is one of Owens’ close friends, and welcomed him on his Twitter feed. Ochocinco lobbied for the team to sign Owens and has dubbed the two of them Batman and Robin.

Haha, the Bengals are going to implode. I actually feel bad for Palmer, even if he wanted him. TO and Chad Johnson (I refuse to call him ochocinco) spells death for any QB.

Well, now I'll if want to enjoy some comic relief, I can tune into the Cowboys and the Bengals.:brando:

I don't know, it could be a decent signing? I guess we'll see if Palmer was just injured or if he's done forever I suppose.

I do like this from the TD celebration aspect.

Bengals were the best fit for T.O, now the Bengals have one to many WRs. I wonder who will be the odd man out. There offense look nice but their secondary is still weak. Good luck to both parties

Secondary is weak? With Joseph & Hall, Crocker & Williams there secondary is one of the leagues best.

How are the Bengals the best fit for TO? Why, because they'll swallow his crap and let him act like a diva along with his buddy who calls himself Ocho Cinco? Yeah, it might be the best fit for him personally, but it's by far one of the worst situations for that team to have TO there. You've got a HC that already lost that locker room years ago and had a shoving match with the other jack ass WR there, and the Bengals have thrown all caution to the wind when it comes to players by going after Matt Jones, Antonio Bryant, Pac Man Jones, and now TO. They're adding that with Chad Johnson of all people. How in the hell do you think that Palmer is going to deal with that? Palmer is no push over, I can assure you. This team will blow up again and Marvin Lewis has already shown that he can't control a team like this. He'll get the blame in the end and he'll lose his job. All the Bengals need to do now is sign Mike Vick and they will have accomplished "The Longest Yard." And before anyone comments back and says that TO isn't a criminal, he's actually worse. He kills teams locker rooms and starts conflicts with QB's. At least the criminals get suspended and get pushed away from the team to where they can't become toxic.

The thing is that T.O is not going in to be the number 1 WR, he won't even be #2. He's going to come in and make plays when he can and that's it. The bengals are not asking him to have a 1000 yard season and help the offence to score TDs. T.O is there to keep playing, get paid and have fun with OchoCinco. If they don't win T.O will not become that diva, he proved that last year.

You think that TO is going to be okay playing that type of role? :spit:

Man, TO would go bananas if he was the 3rd or 4th guy on a team where he has out produced every WR there. He's much better than everyone there other than Johnson. There is no reason why he wouldn't be the #1 or #2 WR if he's there. He still has proven way more than anyone else there. No team would pick up TO to be some 3rd or 4th string WR. They know that he'll bring problems if that happens to him on the depth chart. He'll be the #2 WR for sure starting alongside CJ. It will be a pretty nasty combination, but when things don't run smoothly man o man is Carson going to have some drama on his hands. And Bryant now becomes the odd man out, but he's getting paid any way. Lol! Man, the Bengals just don't ever learn.

if Anthony Bryant is healthy then T.O will be #3 even if he likes it or not. If T.O wanted to be a Top WR for a team he would've taken the pay cut for the Rams or another team that need WR help. I don't think T.O will be any trouble for the Bengals

But Bryant is not healthy.

Why??

His history for causing problems is

Niners: Check
eagles: Check
Cowboys: Check
Bills: Check

He wasn't some little angel on the Bills either. He pouted and shouted at people on the sidelines the same way that he did on other teams. They were just such a bottom feeder team that the media left the situation alone after the 4th week of the season because it didn't matter what TO did to the Bills. They were a terrible team with or without his antics. TO's been the #1 guy on every team he's been on and he's been the most selfish WR to ever play in the NFL, and you think that right now he's all of a sudden going to be happy and okay with Bryant being ahead of him on the depth chart? No way is TO okay with that. He's better than Bryant for one, and for two he simply can't handle not taking the lime light. He thirsts for attention.

Did someone forget to wake Al Davis from his summer nap? Owens shoulda been a Raider.

The things about Al Davis is you can love him or hate him but you know who he is and his history. getting back to the main topic, I see most of ya here dont like T.O but we should see at least half way into the season to see how he acts and what kind of numbers he is putting up

I can only talk, Im not on that field. I can only hope and support but I do believe!!

Texans time is coming :texflag:

That's right bud! All you can do is root for your team and curse your enemies.

I have loved and hated the Raiders through the years of my fandom. Usually hated. But they were always entertaining up until about '98

You (and most people) forget, he also ****ed up the Ravens, too. :rake:

why the AL(:trophy::trophy::trophy:)Davis hate? Raiders are having a awesome offseason and can be this year's surprise team

I hate AL Davis for what he's done to the Raiders and how he does business. He may have had some successes here and there and be an old school guy, but he's screwed over a lot of coaches and players and tried to screw them out of money and on their contracts. He moves his team around and constantly threatens to do it again and again. He has no loyalty anywhere.

even teams like the 49ers, Cowboys and Steelers who have multiple SB championship dont always win, we all have our ups and downs. yeah we been down for seven season but Davis have more history on winning then anything else. The only coaches he didnt pay were Mike Shanahan and Lane Kiffin and right now i dont feel bad for Kiffin after what he has done since his firing. Davis has also done good, with the league, players, coaches, personel etc.. all Davis want to do is win

George Steinbrenner and Al Davis are soo alike

So he signed a one year deal. If he doesn't work out you can cut him and TO is done for this league. That's the nice part of this deal for the Bengals. If he works out and is able to show professionalism while next to Chad, then he looks good again and everyone will want him.

i don't know if the bengals will implode like some in this thread suggest, but one thing's for certain. cincinnati is gonna have an espn friendly season.

I think he is going to screw that team up, I heard on the radio this morning T.O. already tweeted "tell Ocho Cinco Batman is coming" insinuating that T.O. is Batman and Chad Johnson is Robin.

After screwing this team up then he will be a raider!

Something about T.O.....and.....a tiger can't change his stripes......

Sigh....I'm just too bored with T.O. to even make fun of him anymore.

Over/Under on the # of games it takes him to pout his way off the team, retire and become the next terrible personality to do halftime commentary on CBS is set at 9.5

I think I was wrong about T.O, he might be a problem in Cincy. There are 2 million reasons...his contract is 2 mill but also have a extra 2 mill in incentives that look like this...
60 catches- $333k extra
100 catches- $333k more

900 yards- $333k extra
1300 yards- $333k more

10 TDs- $333k extra
14 TDs- $333k more

so it looks like T.O is going to want some stats, first problem is that the Bengals have too many WR, second..Chad also love stats and demands the ball all the time. trouble in cincy :voodoo:

It's the poor QB that's going to get the brunt when TO sees he's not reaching his incentives.

I had forgotten the Bengals have Pacman in camp too. That organization's really beginning to piss me off. Carson's going to go insane

As far as I know, Chad Ochocinco and TO are the only two NFL players in the league who have reality TV shows of some sort. Chad has one where he tries to find a nice lady to hook up with, and TO has a show about the dramedy that is his life.

I think the clear winner in all of this is MTV.

VH1
also Chad have a iPhone app and T.O is now suppose to be getting one out too. Forget the Jets, HBO hard knocks should be the Bengals again

Poor Jordan Shipley imagine starting your pro career as a wholesome Christian kid, with the idiots on that line. Colts only 4 hours away he could always stay over at his house!

The way I see it is there will be no problems the at least the first two years, and now that TO is nearing the end of his career, his focus will probably be quite different. I can see going out with a bang and concentrating on the hall of fame. At any rate, when reviewing the schedules, I am quite pleased that neither the Cowboys or Texans will be facing that combination this year.

Talent wise this would work but the fact that all three men are clowns it won't work. I honestly think Marvin Lewis is not a bad coach. He knows how to coach but to be a good coach you have to have both talent on your team and control of the locker room. I fear Lewis might lose his job not because he or his team isn't good but things off of the field will begin to fall apart off the field and just become an epic fail. Lewis will be fired either fairly or unfairly you decide but it won't be long. Shipley has to now deal with at least three guys ahead of him on the deapth chart all three of which are pretty much head cases i.e. Kobe and MJ who are probably one of the greastest players of all time in their respected sport as you already know but they are also flat out jerks. Fans tend to look at all of this from a pure talent and winning stand point and guess what they are 100 percent correct in looking at it that way but this team is going to explode off of the field and blow up. That will just lead to other players and coaches having to take the blame for crap they were not even a part of i.e. Marvin, Palmer, and Shipley. But Carson is the one who was behind this move and it won't ever be good quite simply because their attiudes suck badly not at all because they are the ones who suck. Owens is on a downhill slide but might still be good enough the problem is his ego though and because of it I spell one word for this signing that word is trouble based on the past when he was on his own but now he'll have at the very least two partners in crime that can never be a good thing. I don't even see all of these three getting along to begin with this will be a great signing that looks perfect on paper sure but at the end of the day I spell mistake and nothing but JMO.

I think Chad and Terrell are good friends. Most likely that will be the team he will fit in well with if that's possible. One year deal, Carson wanted him, they throw the ball alot. Should be interesting .

What you think of Kiffin's actions after he left Oakland has nothing to do with his contract he had with the Raiders and the stipulations that went with it. It's a bad precedent for any NFL owner to screw over a player or a coach on a contract and drag them through a bunch of legal crap. That's called stealing actually and there's no justification for it especially when it happens multiple times. ANd after what Davis put Kiffin through while he was there and all of the medaling he did with the Jamarcus Russell situation, Kiffin deserves his money more than anyone.

How? By cheating his coaches out of money on their contracts, cheating multiple players out of money on their contracts, and holding cities for ransom with his franchise and constantly threatening to leave them? How many times has he been back and forth from Oakland to LA now? Hell, he's threatened to go back to LA several times in the last few years.

George Steinbrenner and Al Davis are soo alike

Steinbrenner is a far better owner than Al Davis will ever have imagined himself to be.

Read my post above I think you'll enjoy it man.

And no one's talking about Antonio Bryant in all of this. That guy's been a hot head for years and is making a lot more money than TO is. Why would they have signed Bryant for all that money if they were thinking that hard on TO? Just crazy. Three mal content WR's all on one team. These three are going to give Carson Palmer so much crap this year. Bryant won't be happy if he's at the #3 spot and neither will TO. Pac Man Jones is on this team and they also signed Matt Jones not that long ago, but he'll probably get cut after this.

And yeah, you're right Marvin Lewis isn't strong enough to handle this. He couldn't handle the implosion that this team had a few years ago and was almost fired. He finally gets the team back on track, and then Brown goes out and signs every trouble making guy on and off the field that he can. Just sad for Lewis, Palmer, and other Bengals fans. This team is going to be such a huge circus that crashes head on.

I really hope that everything works out for the Bengals because their fans have been dying for a championship. Either T.O. will get his head in the game or he will suck and drag his team to hell.

I don't know why Carson wanted this anyway and now Jordan is going to be caught up in all of this mess. Unreal. Rep headed your way if it let's me. EDIT it won't let me. Sorry about that.
