Practice Squad
SUCK BOWL I
San Fransico, Ca.
Jan. 1st 2006

Here's what we got left:
Dec. 18 vs. Arizona (4-9-0)
No way they wont throw this 1
Dec. 24 vs. Jacksonville (9-4-0)
No way to win this 1
Jan. 1 @ San Fransico (2-11-0)

Here's what they got left:
Dec. 18 @ Jacksonville (9-4-0)
No way they can win this 1
Dec. 24 @ St. Louis (5-8-0)
Now they beat 'em the first time, but why not
throw the game
Jan. 1 vs. Houston (1-12-0)

HERE'S THE BIG QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ever see that episode of South Park where the boys are in Little League Base Ball only because there parents are forcing them to play. So the kids decide to start throwing the games, so they dont go to the playoffs. Well it ends up that all the kids in the league are doing the same thing. And the Kids from South Park are the WORST at throwing games. At the end they make it all the way to the Colorado Championship, by trying to lose.

Imagine if you will:
Houston @ San Fransico
Worst Two Records in the league, Who ever wins this game looses the #1 Draft Pick. So why Win? There's no reason to. Both teams are going to spend the time between X-mas and New Year's taking acting classes.
they both need to learn how to make it look like they are trying.

Imagine the stats if you will:

D. Carr, 5/32 65yrds pass, -18 yrds Rushing, 15 Int., 12 fms, 16
sacks
A. Smith, 3/26 42 yrds pass, 3 yrds rushing, 12 Ints, 16 fms, 15
sacks

Imagine the worst game ever in the NFL, with both teams trying to lose,

Please post your ideas on imaginary stats for Suck Bowl I:trophy:

Not quite. Even if we both finish 2-14, and we beat them head-to-head, SF doesn't get the #1 pick automatically.

The FIRST tiebreaker is Strength of Schedule NOT Head-to-Head.

I won't pass any stats. But I will give my point of view on if we lose the Bush Bowl. Think about it. The only thing that is hurting this team is the passing game's blocking. Runwise we are okay. So if we end up with the 2nd pick. We can trade down and perhaps get the offensive lineman we've been needing and through the trade get an extra pick and a veteran player from another team.

I guess someone decided to make a serious post in this seemingly ridiculous thread. Our pass blocking is not the only thing hurting the team, but it is certainly a very big piece of it and something we need to address this offseason with at least two draft picks and/or free agent acquisitions.

yeah, the only benefit of having the first pick in terms of trading down, which i think we should do, is that you'll get more picks in return. hopefully this draft will lay the foundation for our team for many seaspns (imagine drafting D'Brick then McNeil in the second and a TE and thenMichael Huff and DeMario Minter with our 3rd round picks)

Those would be great picks...I hope our new management/coaches can exercise some WISDOM this year and make picks like that. I like Bush, but 1 person cannot fix all the problems on this team. It will be interesting to see what our Coaches and GM do this offseason. I am hoping for a drastic turn of events.

I would be willing to bet that the Niners have us beat in the strength of schedule department. They play in the NFC West which includes both the Cards and the Rams. We only have 1 sucky team in our division (Titans).

I'd rather see Winston over Ferguson as he is bigger, stronger, and a more versatile OL. McNeil would be a good pickup in the second, although I admit other than Winston and Ferguson I haven't seen much of many of the other OLinemen so I don't have a strong opinion on which other ones to pickup. Not sure how much we really need to draft a TE right now, and Huff and Minter would be solid additions. We probably need another WR, especially if Gaffney leaves, and if we trade down once or twice then we'll have extra 2nd and 3rd round picks in there that we can use for such things.

Right now, the strength of schedule is the following:
Houston Texans- .574
San Francisco- .586

They win the first pick if we have same record and season ended today.

I can see it now. The 49er fans will boo the crap out of their team if they score, and will give the Texans a standing ovation if they score. They should call it the Surreal Bowl.

If your stats are correct, then the TEXANS would win that tiebreaker. Lower SoS means you lost against inferior opposition, therefore you win the tiebreak (by being worse).
