I'll be writing a little blurb about this for the Press this afternoon, but figured I'd go ahead and share the next with you in case you hadn't heard:

For those of you actually interested in watching quality football (i.e. not the Texans) this weekend, I’ve got some bad news for you: This season’s showdown of the century featuring undefeated New England and Indianapolis won’t be broadcast here in Houston. Unfortunately, we're stuck with Raiders-Texans.

So if you don’t want to get stuck watching that abomination and you don’t have NFL Sunday Ticket, you’d best start making plans to grab a seat at your favorite sports bar.

Unfortunately? Im afraid 90% of Houstonians would go on riot if the Texans game wasn't broadcast in Houston.

Luckily for me, I have the ability to catch both games, so will be watching that. A texans win is more fun to watch for me than any other game.

This NE - Indy game is likely better than the superbowl though
 
It's amazing how things can change in just a matter of a few weeks in the NFL. We went from dogging KEYE in Austin earlier in the season for not showing the Texans in Austin, to complaining that KHOU in Houston is showing the Texans in Houston.

LOL, who would have saw this coming? Do I need to create a banner and link it to khousucks.com?

Actually for the record KEYE in Austin is showing the Colts/Pats game. The Titans aren't in the picture because they play on FOX.
 
by no means am I suggesting that KHOU not show the Texans game. They absolutely should.

I'm merely saying it's rather unfortunate many will miss out on the best game of the regular season, and in its place they'll see yet another match-up between two of the NFL's also-rans. By the way--assuming the Oakland game doesn't sell out (and that's a distinct possibility)--Houston will be the only city in the country that doesn't get to watch Pats-Colts.

In the end, it's really just a shame that the battle of the unbeatens isn't being played Sunday or Monday night. That's where it belongs.

I would rather watch my team continue their downward spiral back down to the laughing stock of the NFL than the Patriots/Colts game. I'm sure there are a lot of Texans fans that feel the same.

I got Sunday Ticket so I could watch the Texans;)
 
No, we get the Cowpukes and Eagles. Why can't they make decisions in-season as to the best game for prime-time. What's so magical about late in the season. And it's not as if the powers that be couldn't have forseen that this would be the best matchup of the week. They just have this thing where they want try to force feed the Cowboys on us week after week after week. I swear if I see a star, I'm going postal. :devilpig:

NFL Sunday ticket is WAY over priced. I'm not buying that over priced package. I'm a value oriented consumer. I don't purchase things I view as over priced.
 
Why would we be mad at the Texans for this reason? Of course CBS is going to show the Houston-Oakland game in Houston. That's no fault of the Texans. I'm going to Buffalo Wild Wings to catch both games however.

My two favorite Teams? #1 Houston Texans. #2 WHOEVER is playing the Dallas Cowgirls that week. I hate those muff-huggas. The LOWEST point in my life as a football fan wasn't the INFAMOUS "comeback" in Buffalo, but when the Traitors deserted us and went to Tennessee and the local media tried to SHOVE the Cowgirls down our throats.

NFLN will replay the Colts/Pats game, and that's good enough for me.

Honestly, it's come to this point for me. I would rather watch the Colts and Pats given the choice. It's the best matchup of the year. I prefer to watch quality nfl teams go head to head. I never thought I would say it, but the Texans schtick is wearing thin on me. Year after year, and still waiting for a quality product on the field. Roman Empire was built and torn down in less time. The NFL force feeds us a bad product, instead of putting it on SNF so that the entire country can view it. I wish I knew who to write to about this. I will catch the NFL network reply, but it's simply not the same once the outcome is known.

The NFL has a tv contract with all these networks. How do you think CBS or FOX would like it if they constantly had their best games taken from them? They implemented flexible scheduling later in the year to kinda even this whole thing out, so we wouldn't be watching two 4-6 teams play each other in the 12th week of the season. Good compromise, I say.
 
khou has posted a poll about which game people would prefer to watch this weekend. They are trying to make it very clear that they do not have a choice in which game they air.

Here is a link to the poll, if you want to vote and support the Texans (or not).

Personally, I will be watching the Texans (but I am considering doing it from a sports bar because I would really like to see the Colts/Pats game).

I was going to post the same thing. Remember when people were hoping we get picked up for the flex scheduling later in the season?

Who do they think pays their frieght? Because if the answer is the TV networks, that would be incorrect. The fans pay the salaries of each and every nfl employee or executive. Maybe it's time to listen to the fans and not the almighty dollar from the networks. If the fans turn, they'll all be on the unemployment line. Maybe they should read the story about the golden goose.

its the fans that pay for that advertising that the TV networks use to pay their bills Porkomatic. You may be in the minority view, but the networks are going to go with the most views....cause they want the most money.

I understand how it works. I was born at night, but it wasn't last night. :whip:

I think that the Pats/Colts game would get a higher rating, and yes in Houston, than the Texans/Raiders.

I like NFL Sunday Ticket. Course it's the only way I get to see the Texans since I live so far away. :fans:

Way back in the 70's when I was stuck with Patriots games, I always wished I could watch the game I wanted. I know it's expensive, but to me it's worth it. Costs me $100. Got that money back by eliminating trips to the coffee shop.

Looking forward to watching a game at Reliant some day. At least I can still see the Texans on TV until then.:tv: :cool:
 
By the way I enjoyed watching the Texans game.

I also got to watch the look on manning face as time was time way running out.
