On Saturday night the Florida State game was on ESPN 2. Drew Weatherford ,the redshirt sophomore QB, was injured so Xavier Lee, another redshirt sophomore, stepped in and played.. Drew Weatherford is not a good quarterback. He threw 18 INTs last year as the starter and only 18 TDS. He had alot of yards because Florida State couldn't run at all last year, and this year they are also not running much. Weatherford has a good amount of yards this season but that's because Florida State hasn't run much this season. Their top 2 leading rushers total 778 yards on 142 carries in 8 games.

Xavier Lee steps in this game for his first career start after being Weatherford's backup for a year last year, and for the other games of this season and plays wonderful first start. He was 22/36 for 286 yards and 2 TDs. He also ran for 50 yards on 8 carries. Xavier Lee was the Vince Young of Florida coming out of high school and was a top ranked QB. He fell in love with FSU because his coach in high school was an ex-coach of FSU.

I am hoping this game starts his career at FSU and we bench Weatherford forever. I was just wondering if anyone caught the game on TV and had an opinion.
 
I didn't see the game but I saw his clips from high school because Texas was recruiting him as well. Mighty impressive athlete.
 
Its good to hear that the General Lee is finally getting some time. Im gonna have to keep an eye out for some FSU games.

You know he has superior talent when Texas goes after him.

They only go after players out of state if they are elite players.
 
xavier lee isn't good at all. there's a reason he never came in the games despite how much weatherford sucks. he's getting a shot because the season is done.

Sounds like the same thing needs to happen in Miami with Kyle Wright and Kirby Freeman.

Umm, maybe you should read the post. He played because Weatherford was INJURED. Also, obviously he is quite good considering the way he played. You should really do some actual watching of football before coming to these forums and talking about it.

ah okay. if i wanted to watch football i wouldn't watch an FSU game.
 
It's a shame Bobby Bowden is allowing his son to drive FSU's offense into the ground and still act as if everything is fine. Guess that's the reason he's not considering retirement yet. As soon has his job is gone, so will his son's.
 
his son needs to just quit. because there's no way his dad will fire him, clearly. or just ask for a demotion and take some pressure off of pop.
