not possible.

No one has two first roud picks except Denver.. and their picks are too late in the round to get Dbrick and White.

If it was possible.. yes id take it in a heartbeat. White is DD but bigger and possibly more durable. Dbrick would lock down the tackle positions on our Oline for the next decade.
 
and I dont think "most" is a good word to use for the people who think White will be a better back. Cause "most" isnt even close... the only place where Bush isnt considered by "most" to be a future superstar is on this board.
 
thats a tough decision. i think houston should go with vince young. he's gonna be an amazing QB to watch for some time.

You don't upgrade the RB position, unless its Bush (possibly the next Gale Sayers). No one else is that much better than DD.
 
Personally those who are looking at the bigger picture here and see that if we stay in the 34 we have 7 positions open. Obcourse we prob wont fill them all but we need to fill majority of them. Then if we go to 43 then its 8 positions need to be filled. I dont think we can stay at #1 period. We need 3 OL members, TE, LB, CB, FS just for 34 and for 43 we need a DL... now if we get a TE in either T Johnson or R Mcmicheal then that can be our TE for this year. We still need a #2 CB that cant wait past 2nd round. I think we need a LB pretty bad here. Peek hasnt lived up to expectations. Wong is coming off an injury.. greenwood was a let down... and babin i will just stop there. Then we need a FS which there will be some good ones in the 3rd round we can draft. There is a strong possibility if that we could not even draft an offensive player til the 3rd round. To be honest as of NOW i think we have no choice bbut to trade down. Obcourse there are trades and FA that could change things. I just dont see it as of now.

You mispelled "many" there Mightymike. Common mistake. Unless you've got a poll, show of hands, or a head count of some kind it's speculation.

It seems to me that if "most" thought he was going ot be a better back in the NFL than Bush then he'd be projected to go before Bush in the draft. He still might be but right now it's not that way.
 
It's not possible, but if it was I'd definitely consider it. I'd prefer Eric Winston to D'Brickashaw Ferguson, and I'd probably prefer DeAngelo Williams to LenDale White, but that's a toss-up. If we were talking Adrian Peterson (I know he's not eligible this year, but if he was) and Eric Winston, I'd definitely do it.

Plz casserly, use a sick day or something. Take the weekend off, take the scenic route to work that day. Why work hard for us when we ain't re-signing you after your contract is up. If were you I'd show up, shoot the finger, grab the fish bowl and say "Who's comin' with me".

speaking of tackles & lost in all the Vince Young Hype are a couple of real athletic, gonna be solid pro tackles LT- Jonathan Scott & RT- Winston Justice the Texans would be set @ the tackle positions.

I wouldn't be upset at all. especially if the Texans have Vince Young making the throws, they already have excellent chemistry, Dave gives Vince that 3rd look underneath so he does not have to pull it down and run he will make the throw instead & wouldn't that be something the Texans using a TE :cool:

I see that happening. No Jon scott though. Not becuase I'm a UT lover, he'll be the best available TE if he's there at that spot.
 
This is a no-brainer to me. You definitely do that. White is a better complement to DD than Bush and we've needed a left tackle since Brad Hopkins left!

It's not possible, though.
 
I would definately do it, would address the need for an offensive linemen and also gives us another good running back. Or we could take Ferguson and Hawk and resign Wells

Im with you on this one... for starters, how do you know Bush will be beter then DD? Just because he is faster does not mean anyting (see: Tony Hollings)...
 
Trading for Eric Winston and Mario Williams would also be a definite yes in my books, but again that won't happen.

On that note, how does anybody know if D'Brickashaw will be better than Wiegert; because he's bigger?
Well he's not, but that's not the point...
Maybe some of the people around here think one will be better than the other becuase so many well informed people in and around the league have evaluated them that way...

Also, I'm not trying to be rude, but someone pimping a player the way you are pimping Ferguson in your sig should at least spell the name correctly...

Grabbing Wisnton and Mario would indeed be hard, but it could still happen depending on how the draft goes. If we trade down to #4 and grab the Jets 3rd rounder this year, 1st and 4th rounders next year and John Abraham, then draft Mario Williams at #4, we have two superb DEs for a 4-3 defense, which obviously for this illustration we're assuming that we switch to. Then, as I've posted in a couple different threads, if Winston somehow slips down to the 22nd pick, we trade our three 3rd round picks to Denver for the 22nd overall (pretty even trade on the value chart, maybe add a 4th-5th round pick in on Denver's side to even it out, plus Denver generally doesn't stay in the 1st round and likes 3rd round picks, and this way they add 3rd round picks that they love but still maintain their own 1st rounder) and then we draft Winston at #22. We'd lose our three 3rd round picks, but we'd still have the #33 pick, our 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th round picks (first pick of each round) and maybe Denver's 4th or 5th rounder from that trade, plus the Jets 1st rounder for next year. I think we could at least pull of the Jets deal, but obviously the Winston part is dependent upon him falling that far, or if he's not there we could get Michael Huff from Texas if he is available, someone else of that caliber, or just keep our three 3rd round picks. Once again, here is the trade sequence:

Stage 1)
We give up: #1 to Jets
We get: John Abraham, Jets' 1st round pick (#4), 3rd round pick (#68), 1st and 4th round picks in 2007.

Stage 2)
We give up: three 3rd round picks (#65, #66, #68)
We get: Denver's first 1st round pick (#22), Denver's 4th/5th round pick

Stage 3)
Draft Mario Williams at #4
Draft Eric Winston at #22 if available, if not get Huff or someone else. (Obviously we don't make the 2nd part of the trade if guys we really want are gone)

So, in total:
We give up: #1, #65, and #66 this year
We get: Mario Williams, John Abraham, Eric Winston/Michael Huff, Jets 1st and 4th round picks in 2007, and the Broncos 4th/5th round pick this year.

To me, that trade looks pretty nice if it works out, and as I said I think we could realistically at least get the Jets part of that deal, that by itself, to me, seems more beneficial to the overall team, and it puts us in a position to trade back into the 1st round like this if someone we were looking at slips down to #22.

I'm not sure there are enough massage parlors, Asian modeling, Lingerie modeling, & private tanning places left in H-Town for Winston Justice to want to come here ;) On the positive side, Texas is alot easier when it comes to gun control compare to Cali. He could afford a real one with his big contract!

As long as Winston Justice has been on the field, he has been the marquee talent on USC’s offensive line the past three seasons. He moved into the starting lineup the second game of his true freshman season and has not let the job go, aside from a suspension in 2004. He was suspended from school for a year for brandishing a fake firearm at a fellow student, who did not realize it was fake. As a freshman in 2002, Justice was a freshman All-American. All Pac 10 honors came his way as a sophomore, and he was on his way to big things until the suspension occurred.

Justice has all the talent in the world at the tackle spot. He has played RT his entire career, but that is Matt Leinart’s blind side, so he has experience protecting the QB’s backside. Justice is a very good athlete, with the ability to adjust to counter moves by defenders. In the run game, he shows the ability to control his man at the point of attack to open up holes for his backs. During his year off, Justice showed great determination by working out constantly, taking up boxing and getting himself into the best shape of his life.

Despite all the talent, Justice has struggled this year. He has shown a lot of rust. He can get beat by quick edge rushers. It has resulted in quite a few holding penalties, or just getting flat out beaten. Even though he has started every year he’s been on the field, he’s still raw, and needs more time to develop. Before enrolling at USC, Justice was picked up for soliciting a prostitute, making that two run ins with the law, along with the aforementioned suspension.

Justice has almost as much upside as any tackle in this draft. He is not quite the explosive athlete D’Brickashaw Ferguson is, but he’s up there with any other tackle in the draft. His stock has dropped a bit this year with the rust, but his upside will make teams take notice. While not a character risk, his maturity does need to be looked into as he has gotten into trouble with the law twice now since leaving high school. Winston should probably return to USC to develop further, and because of the depth at tackle, but if he declares, he still looks like a potential first rounder
