Will the Texans/Browns game air in Austin?

I'll be shocked if the Texans are on this week, but we won't know for a couple of days.

For every Texans game that hasn't been on KEYE, I've gotten a pre-emptive email letting me know from the program director before it ever comes out on the map... and I haven't gotten that email yet. I usually get it on Mondays, though... so I'll post it here either way.
 
Well, my wife and I will watch her Niners try and hang with the Cowboys. The Texans just don't give me any rocks to throw at KEYE.
 
He sent me the ratings for yesterdays games - and they're ASTOUNDING.

The Titans game at 3PM - you know, the Titans WITHOUT Vince Young - more than DOUBLED the ratings for the Texans game at noon. That is amazing.

Also - the game that ran at noon on Fox - Bears/Packers - rated higher than the Texans on KEYE.

Wow. Why would KEYE ever show another Texans game?

EDIT: I forgot to mention an important thing here: of course, the Titans game was unopposed in the Austin market, whereas the Texans game was up against a game on Fox... but still - it was MORE than double the ratings, plus the Texans/Colts game didn't even beat out the Packers/Bears head to head.

Ratings are a crock. Don't get me started, I have no Texan rocks..lol

What we can agree, is that if the Texans would freaking win some games - we wouldn't even have to have threads like this. Sigh.

No kidding. It really chaps me they show the Titans no matter what and I used to give 'em Hell about it, but now I can't in good conscience
blame them for showing whoever they see fit. I can hate that they do it, but I won't give them any grief for it while we are playing like this.

We on this board have fought for the Texans cause in Austin (S.A. too) much harder than the Texans themselves. Both the Front Office and now the product they have on the field have undermined any efforts by the fans to date.

Yeah, we have and that's what really bites. The FO has done nothing!
 
I can't even be mad at KEYE honestly, and I usually am. But its getting to a point where I don't even feel like watching the games - maybe not even enough for me to go to a bar to watch the game.

Like the rest of you who have also voiced out to help the Texans in this market, it is kind of hard to fight for something that doesn't fight for itself.
 
A couple of reasons I will watch this game:

1. I have the Ticket( so I can, but most likely will be flipping channels)

2. Because my friend is a big mouthed Browns fan and is talking trash already

Have them send you the ratings where the Titans are up against the Cowboys...that's the number of viewers I want to see. I'm betting that Cowboy fan in Austin watch the Titans becuase they have no interest in the Texans and at least have some interest in the Titans becuase of VY. We've never really been competing against the Titans...just against the Cowboy fan that doesn't watch the Texans and watches Titans or other NFC game. No big deal...I would just like to see those comparisons.

I'll ask him on Monday - because the KEYE Titans/Jets game is going head to head against the Fox Cowboys/49ers game.
 
I might have to go to upstate New York this weekend. Sunday could very well be the day we go and a three hour stopover in Cleveland could happen, wishful thinking, but could happen.

Cool thanks. I am good then. Actually I won't mind watching the Tacks/Jets game. I always pull for the Jets when they aren't playing Houston or the Giants. I am interested in seeing how they will match up to the Titans. I don't think I have watched them yet this year with Favre.

However if the Titans do make the Super Bowl maybe it's better if they are undefeated especially if the Giants make it back. We all know the Giants are better than perfect. ;)

BTW, watch the Texans win on Sunday. The Browns are coming off Monday Night and many Texans fans have stopped caring about this season. That could equal a Texans win.

I have been to bikinis on 2 different occasions because I got tired of driving to 6th street and no one being there for games. They have sunday ticket and they had the sound for the game last time I was there and they have a good price on Zeigen Bock.

With switching to Direct TV I got sunday ticket for cheap so I will be at the house as long as it is not blacked out cause of regional crap and keye screws that some how, even though they are not showing the game.

Papa John's? It's a pizza joint that has the majority of its Texas ownership given to Jerry Jones. That's the guy that also owns the pizza delivery squad commonly referred to as the Dallas Cowboys. Even though they aren't in Dallas and never have been. But I digress.


wait...........your referring to Waterdogs, right? New sportsbar, open only about a month. Not very high profile at all. Matter of fact, it is almost un-noticible. Unless, of course, you live in San Marcos and happened to notice that the old bicycle shop isn't there anymore and has moved to a location by the Interstate. Wait, I am digress-ing again, aren't I.

Not a chain sports bar, I don't think. But pretty nice and small crowd of football fans have found it so far. $2 domestics on Sundays. $2 well drinks also. Nice TV's though, and they play all the games and have several TV's to see all the ongoing games on. If you go to a sportsbar to watch the game, go to Waterdogs. If you go to the sportsbar to check out the chick's in swimsuits, go to Bikini's, IMO.

Usually when Spec goes to a sports bar thats all he wants is chicks in bikinis.
If you have the Ticket Spec, you will see the game, so save that cash and watch the game from your casa mi amigo!

I called this one. Team coming off Monday night football win coupled with the fact the Texans typically start winning after most of the fans stop caring because in reality the season is over.
