I remember when Keyshawn came to the league, he would pay a fine before the season started to wear 19. They wanted him to wear a number in the 80s but he paid whatever the fine was 16 times at the beginning of the season. Today, I believe the number 10-19 were added to a recievers options because someone was drafted and all the numbers in the 80s were taken so they expanded the options. As for what they will do today who knows... Then again Reggie Bush is to the NFL what Lebron James was 2 years ago to the NBA; they may let him do what ever he wants.TexanBacker93 said:I doubt there is an option to allow someone to pay a fine and have a uniform that isn't in accordance with the league rules. Remember, this is the same league that wouldn't allow Manning to wear black shoes for a game to honor Unitas or Plummer to wear a Tillman patch to honor his former teammate and friend. I'm sure if he ran out with a #5 there would be a fine, but if it happened again I would imagine something much more severe. They don't like individuality in the NFL.
