Wiegert/TJ/Peek Injuries

I haven't heard any news on Wiegert's injury. If he can't play, that puts Winston in the line-up and Bedell as the swing tackle. Salaam gave up two sacks today. Does our o-line strike fear in anyone's hearts but the Texan fans?
 
I don't know what his status is either...I am hoping he's okay...We are already lacking in talent on the OLine.

Lets hope he can make it back and be ready for the Bills.
 
He was one of the team Captains for today. He is a bigger loss than most people think. He really is one of the leaders on this ball club. We have won more games when he has been in the line up than most think. He has had a number of injuries and it shows. When he's in there we have a far better chance of winning than not.
 
This will turn out to be a good thing. This whole season is about learning, now its Winston's time to learn. The future is now.
 
Weigert and Travis Johnson both suffered season-ending injuries according to John McLain. Not necessarily a bad thing for this team considering that they have both been disappointing with their on-field performances and were probably out the door after this season anyway. I look forward to seeing Eric Winston the second half of the season.

Peek better be looking over his shoulder too. He has been non-existant this year.
 
Too bad for Wiegert - a season ender at this point might mean he'll call it a career too.
 
So who gets moved up into the starting lineup for TJ?

Im wondering if Kubes is gonna move Weaver inside like they were experimenting with in the offseason then start Peek or Babin at end.

btw, im not saying this would be a great move, just the best move with the talent we have available. Maybe have Kulu start and then bring in Babin on passing situations?
 
another tackle down, I imagine if they don't try to sign Wand to replace on the depth chart, they never will sign him again.

There might be a little problem with Wand's availibility. If the Texans want to but can't sign him, it is their own fault for keeping Bedell and two fullbacks on the roster while relying on two nicked up and aging starters at tackle.

Roster move: The Titans are expected to sign former Texans tackle Seth Wand, who worked out for the team on Tuesday, in the near future.
Wand was a third round pick by the Texans in 2003. He has started 18 games, including all 16 in 2004.

That's exactly what I was thinking. His lateral quickness was almost gone anyway. 2 years until it's back to 'normal' will be 2 drafts from now, ya know? Weigart had a good run but it's almost certainly over now.
 
I dont like seeing anyone get injured, but I will say Im glad Winston gets his chance. The TJ injury hurts moreso because we just have no depth there whatsoever, so many DTs are getting hurt its rediculous. The Peek injury is unfortunate, but I havent seen much of him other than he starting stuff with the Jags and having his helmet knocked off.
 
OK, I see some folks kind of glad Wiegert is out. However, that then leaves us with Beddle as the back up. That doesn't sount very good to me. I'm not real fond of Wiegert who was the starter, but having a rook now starting (not all bad) with Beddel backing up the rook and Saleem....that just doesn't look very good to me.

Glad to hear that Winston will get his chance, but sorry it had to happen this way.

As far as Wand goes, I'm sure this season-ending injury with half the season to go would not move him an inch closer to the Texans lineup. I'm sure Kubiak was looking through the Broncos classifieds for "Ex-Bronco, Seaking Team" before the game was over...
 
Uh, if Wand isn't signed already by Tennessee, any hope of stealing him back?

It would be easier not to move.

Sign him! Then, sign another one and cut Salaam. Mistakes can be reversed.
