Why has no one brought up the idea of putting the franchise tag on carr, to make teams around the league believe that were going to pick a quarterback with the first pick. If we pick up the options for carr than every GM around the league is going to realise that were not going to pick a Qb and therefore not trade with us because they know were not going to pick a quarterback.
Instead the texans should talk to david carr and tell them that their going to franchise him therefor makeing teams have to trade with us so they don't loose out on vince young or matt leinart. Than after the draft we can sign david carr to a new deal similar to what he would have recieved if we picked up his option.
This helps the Texans by
1. Being able increase the value of the #1 pick and pick up additional picks and still get reggie bush say at #2 or #3.
2. The drafts a game of poker and if we pick up carrs option before the draft than we've already shone are hand to every other team.
