Bill O'Brien's name has popped up in the
Giants' head coach rumor mill.
It's not the first time, and it's easy to understand why there would be mutual interest.
But while the Texans coach would be a fascinating target for the Giants, his potential candidacy would be a complicated one. Chiefly because there's a very good chance he will still have a job after the season ends.
O'Brien and Texans general manager Rick Smith do not have a good working relationship.
A recent Houston Chronicle report called it "toxic."The Texans have collapsed to 4-11 this fall under a wave of injuries, and O'Brien is under contract for one more season after this year. Smith has been the team's general manager for 12 seasons, and is signed through 2020.
