Why a Bill O'Brien Giants coaching candidacy would be complicated

Bill O'Brien's name has popped up in theGiants' head coach rumor mill.It's not the first time, and it's easy to understand why there would be mutual interest.

But while the Texans coach would be a fascinating target for the Giants, his potential candidacy would be a complicated one. Chiefly because there's a very good chance he will still have a job after the season ends.

O'Brien and Texans general manager Rick Smith do not have a good working relationship. A recent Houston Chronicle report called it "toxic."The Texans have collapsed to 4-11 this fall under a wave of injuries, and O'Brien is under contract for one more season after this year. I read the rules but they are somewhat confusing.

Or why they'd want a guy who has been hanging loose for the last 10 years getting overpaid for tv gigs. I don't see at all why they would think that Gruden is their savior now. I also can't see why he'd want back in either.
