Waterboy
i was wondering who you guys think the fastest player in the NFL is and who is the fastest on our team
mine are
NFL-stallworth
US-AJ :fight:

Newman has to be the fastest. I thought Tomlinson was fast as well That is the guy I compare Hollings to if Hollings can polish up.

NFL: Bethel Johnson

Texans: I dont remember what AJ ran at the combine last year, but didnt Dunta run a 4.34 this year is AJ faster than that?

AJ's 40 at his workout was either a high 4.3 or a low 4.4, I know it wasnt 4.34, so Dunta might be faster.

I think M. Bennett & D. Stallworth recorded the fastest 40. Bradford is probably the fastest player on our team.

AJ did not run at the combine, although here is a fun quote about his appearance:

University of Miami wide receiver Andre Johnson turned heads when he weighed in at an incredible 230 pounds. And with nary any fat on him at all. The 6-feet-2 Johnson is a monster, a player who closely resembles Cardinals wide receiver David Boston in terms of overwhelming size. Scouts stopped and stared when he walked down a corridor on Friday afternoon. Johnson won't run here but he has already passed the eyeball test.

This doesn't give a specific time, but from PFW last year:

Miami’s Andre Johnson and Michigan State’s Charles Rogers solidified their status as the top two receivers in the draft with sub-4.3 40-times on some watches at their pro days. With a 41-inch vertical jump and better size (6-2, 230), Johnson has shown he is a better physical specimen than Rogers, who did not impress with a 37-inch vertical, 10-foot-1 broad jump and relatively slow shuttles (4.19 20-yard and 7.14 three-cone) that were below average when measured vs. Combine participants. However, Rogers is more polished as a receiver than Johnson is.

coery bradford ran like a 4.29

Gotta make a distinction between the combine and pro-days. Stories are out there that Bradford running in the 4.2's was what got him into football in college, but:

With NFL coaches watching at the combine in Indianapolis, Bradford ran the 40-yard dash in 4.47 seconds.

FYI--going into last year's combine:
the fastest official time at the combine was posted by Deion Sanders, at 4.29 seconds, in 1989

also that was when the 40 wasent as acuret he probly ran alot fsater at his pro day

stallworth -n.o.
aJ for us

edit..... didn't robertson run a low 4.3 or high 4.2 ?

Daryl Green still might give guys in the nfl a run for their money ;) (and I probably mispelled his name)

Sub 4.3, I think thats a stretch, but alot of you continue to say Corey Bradford, hes no spring chicken anymore, though he is fast I dont think hes as fast as he was as a younger guy, hes getting up there in age.

I am trying to find the combine and pro day stats for DeAngelo Hall...there were some hand timings of him with a 4.15...which really translates into about a 4.2. I saw an interview with Vick and Hall about a month ago where Vick conceded that Hall had a faster 40 time than him on paper, but he promptly said that at some point he would "see what the rook's got" during spring training.

For the Texans my vote is like this...in shorts it's Bradford, in pads it's AJ.

I think Bethel Johnson or Deangleo Hall are the fastest in the NFL. Bethel Johnson ran a 4.27 40 at the combine, which would be close to De Hall. The fastest on the Texans is probably Corey Bradford.

http://www.gbnreport.com/Top100.htm

Bethel Johnson is 237 on the list.
Andre Johnson is 5/

Steve McKinney can run a 5.2 40. He'll leave all of em in the dust. Hall, AJ, Bethel - smoke. Make those guys look like mud turtles. McKinney is gonna be in the Olymics in Greece this summer. #76 has my vote easy.

In the NFL it's Michael Bennett of the Vikes. He's a freak.
On our team I would say Bradford.

Didnt he choose the NFL over a sprinter for the Olympic team? I think I remember hearing that.

Yea, Bennett was a track stud at Wisconsin.
Thanks, he set a record with 3 straight games with a 60+ yard TD run. That guy is fast.

Remember when Micheal Lewis caught JJ from behind during the Saints game last year. I thought JJ was gone and out of nowhere comes Lewis.

Man... finally I start seeing more Michael Lewis, I thought something was wrong with me!

It's crazy how fast that man is... It's like he is on a completely different field as everybody else. I'm gonna assume he can run the 40 somewhere in the 4.1 range...

While Bradford in his younger days may have been faster than AJ, anyone that has the Miami game on tape I want you to take a look at Bradford's slant pattern for a touchdown (the 76 yarder or whatever it was). Bradford is busting *** down the field as fast as he can to stay in front of the DB, and (in my opinion) Johnson is keeping stride a few yards behind him yet barely even seems to be trying. Maybe its just a difference in running styles, but it looked as if Johnson could have kicked into another gear and blown past all of them.
