Who should we take at #11?

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot! Just place it wherever it needs to be and point me in that direction... BUT

I am very curious, as I always am, to see whom the board thinks our draft pick should be in the first round! I actually feel like the top 2 picks are like 2 1st round picks, but for the sake of scope I only want to know about people's first round choice.

If you like NFL news, www.nfpost.com is a decent site to look at the "Top 32" players available.

Personally I am ok with a few ideas:

#1.) Drafting the best front 7 defensive player available. That is, someone who is a winner at their previous institution and someone who's jersey number you remember because they just dominated their opponent. I say draft a front 7 player because the secondary prospects don't seem to be nearly as impressive as the front 7 players.

#2.) Some kind of ludicrous trade, but that just seems like rubbish. Given the circumstances this year, it would have to be going after Peterson. Something that you know is worth gold. Hard to say that about any player.

#3.) Taking the OVERALL BPA at the time of our pick. I'm talking receiver... whatever. That'd be interesting. In a time that you can't rely on having training camp, take the most proven football player. They tend to translate well.

NOTE: I don't think Amukamara is worth our pick. Just youtube him and you will be unimpressed. I have spent many years being unimpressed by the Texans. I would like to be impressed thx.
 
College football is where all the good draft goes on.

As for #11 it could go a lot of ways, Prince not being a very likely one.

Look for Aldon Smith, Robert Quin or Cam Jordan.

I'm high on J J Watt, Peterson, Robert Quinn, and DaQuan Bowers.
 
Who we draft will depend on who is take before us and I've got to say, the first 10 picks this year are really unpredictable. Last year you could script the first 10 picks and there wouldn't be very many suprises, but this year is totally different.
 
Robert Quin has a brain tumor and has to get an MRI every six months to check up on it. I have a bad feeling about this guy competing in the violence that is the NFL with such a condition. He does seem to be a good athletic that somehow gets around all that, but it makes me nervous about drafting him nonetheless.

You need to read CloakNNNDagger's post concerning Quinn's "tumor".

With all this information, although never specifically identified, it is most probable that this is, indeed, an arachnoid cyst.

If CND's analysis is correct, Quinn is not the major medical risk he's portrayed to be by draftniks. The question is, will the Texans medical staff be on top of Quinn's health status and give the correct info to Wade.
 
I should have finished my thought in my OP! I personally like the idea of Cameron Jordan or J.J. Watt.

I think our Defensive line will not be the static cast of players that everyone on these boards keeps saying. I am thinking about a scheme similar to the Cardinals D when they went to the super bowl as a 9-7 team. They had a lot of different looks, with players shifting roles every time they showed them. Therefore, I support a player like Jordan or Watt. Those kids are hungry and they like to make plays, especially Jordan. Look up an eastbay video interview by him... He wants to beat you in your friendly walk to the local mall.

I also have blind faith in the DB coach that we took from the Niners when Singletary was fired. I am a Singletary fan. I think if that coach is 1/3 of the disciplinarian that Singletary is, our DB's will produce better results. I feel like we grab the best defensive playmaker available again at our 2nd pick and we have a legit chance to surprise people this year. They don't know what to expect and we are sick of getting our a$$es beat!
 
If you just watched the Bill Parcells draft special on ESPN, he had JJ Watt as his highest rated DE in the draft.

I don't know about that, but he clearly has the skins on the wall to make that kind of evaluation. In addition to that, I do know that if you watched during the season, JJ Watt was absolutely everywhere, in every game. Other guys might measure out better, but Watt is a football player!
