Four years of David Carr should tell EVERYONE all they need to know. Look at other franchises that have taken on rookie quarterbacks. Four years is long enough to figure out whether you have a leader and a winner for a quarterback. Four years and still no leadership from that position. Four years and still no winning season. In the fourth year we get regression from that position. I know everyone's going to say it's the offensive line's fault. They're the reason David Carr hasn't been successful. Ask yourself this question: How many teams in the NFL would trade for David Carr right now and make him their starting quarterback? I know no one wants to start over... but sometimes it's the best option available. How many more years do you want this franchise to suffer? That's what you have to REALISTICALLY ask yourselves. Vince Young's going to be a star somewhere. He helps our offensive line problems with his legs and arm... but even if Vince isn't your choice, this franchise DESPERATELY needs a quarterback who can lead this team to a Super Bowl, one who knows how to command leadership in the huddle, on the field AND on the sidelines... and one who knows how to find ways to help his team win... someone who, instead of complaining and making excuses, will take responsibility for his team's failures even when they're not necessarily his. That is what a TRUE leader and winner does. He personally holds himself accountable for his team's performance. Players will bust their tails for a guy like that. All the Longhorn players said they knew they were going to win the Rose Bowl. They knew Vince would find a way. That's what they believed and they were willing to do whatever it took to help Vince make that happen. I think you also need to look at lack of productivity at the GM position as well. A new team's fourth season should be the turning point. If you haven't had success by then, meaning making the playoffs with a legitimate chance of going to the Super Bowl, it's time to make a change. I believe in the four year rule with coaches, GM's and players. Produce or say goodbye. I'm desperately afraid of seeing the Texans wind up as a below average NFL team for the fifth straight season. Everyone else is out there making moves and making their teams better while we sit on our hands waiting for the 2006 Draft to take place. Why aren't we out there grabbing some top notch free agents to better our team with? Why aren't we our there looking for a trade or two that will instantly make our team better? Why? You have to show an honest commitment to making your franchise a winner. I hope ownership and management read this.

There is zero possibility of the Texans drafting Young and there never has been. All of this talk from the front office that they are looking at all options between Young and Bush was to appease the fanatic Longhorn fans who were completely irrational after the Rose Bowl.
The hype has died down and now the team will continue on the path that they were set to take before the Rose Bowl, taking Reggie Bush.
If you listen to what Casserly has been saying (filling needs in FA, taking BPA in draft), what Kubiak has been saying (DD will be better with the addition of another quality back), what the interview process was (breaking down Reggie Bush game film), Kubiak's scheme of a run heavy offense, signing Weaver to a big contract, etc. You can see that we are staying at #1 unless we get a Godfather trade and taking Reggie Bush.

For whatever reason or another, this seems to be the key ingredient that is continously missing from so many of our GREAT PALS that patronize this great website.......
Somehow, I often get the sense that the ESPN/FOX NETWORK is more involved within their mindsets than they may care to admit.......for although I for one will never hesitate in granting our colleagues the utmost in respect to whatever their opinions may be......... but very often times, it just seems as though I am hearing constant echoes from the multitudes of national media outlets throughout.......instead of hearing what I feel is clearly within their hearts........
YOU SEEM TO REALLY KNOW VINCE...... for your articulated accolades ring TRUER THAN TRUE.......

Im just going to start off by saying WOW. I realy wish some of our newcomers would search other threads to find a thread about the topic they want to talk about. Also so they can realize what kind of reaction they are going to get from the other posters.
There was a time about a month or two ago that I actualy wanted the Texans to get VY. But now it absolutely angers me when I think about how many so called fans would just drop the Texans because of one stupid QB. I dont have a problem following certain players throughout there career. But deciding to not like a team because they passed on a player that you wanted is just stupid.
