so far i've been to buffalo and green bay (both in december) lambda was the best.

I live out this way, don't know if I'll make the game (I kind of spent all my extra money on this eclipse trip I'm on...) but I can be a tour guide!
- CLink is a great stadium, but the area to the north (Pioneer Square) gets pretty sketchy at night.
- If you're staying near Sea-Tac Airport, the light rail runs from the airport about 2 blocks from the east side of the stadium.
- Wind almost always comes from the south-southwest, so if you don't want to get soaked, get tickets on the northwest sections of the stadium.
- Best "relaxed nightlife" in the city is in Ballard and Fremont.
- Capitol Hill and the U-District have a habit of being more party towns.
- Downtown is dead by 7pm other than the malls and occasional druggie.
- If you have a few days, catch a ferry over to Bainbridge Island, drive out towards Snoqualmie Falls and North Bend (there's also a casino out there if that's your thing), or catch the Amtrak train (or Boltbus if you're cheap) to Portland, Bellingham, or Vancouver.
- If you have considerably more time, Orcas Island would be a great overnight (or more) excursion. The northern Olympic Peninsula (Port Angeles, Sequim, Port Townsend) would also be good.
- If you're looking at heading out to the ocean beaches: Ocean Shores, Hoquiam, and Aberdeen are a dump (you've been warned). Long Beach, Astoria, Seaside, and Cannon Beach are much nicer. Westport isn't bad, but other than the beach there's nothing going on there in the fall. Forks is Twilight (you've been warned again).
- Leavenworth is really cool, but keep in mind you'd have to cross mountain passes that will most likely be snowy. Amtrak service is available, but timed poorly to make round trips from Seattle make sense (and the track between Seattle and Everett has a tendency to have mudslides in October/November....)
- Touristy places that are worth visiting: EMP (now MoPop, but nobody calls it that), Pacific Science Center, Seattle Aquarium, Pike Place Market, and the Museum of Flight.
- Going up the Space Needle isn't really worth the hassle or the money... if you want a skyline view, go to Kerry Park, Smith Tower, Columbia Tower, or the Bainbridge ferry.
