Where's Armstrong??????

Where is Armstrong???? He is a talented reciever, but this coaching staff refuses to give him PT. Has he done something to be in the perverbial "coaches doghouse"? I don't understand releasing Morgan from the practice squad to see what he can do, and totally forgetting about Armstrong. If I were Derrick, I would demand some respect or trade me!!
A shame to keep playing Bradford(by the way he missed the first pass thrown to him Sunday), and keeping Armstrong on the pine.

Armstrong can really ask for a trade all he wants. He has no value at the present time. I personally like the guy, good #4 WR. At least better than Morgan. Actually, neither will be here next year, but good luck to both.

He was inactive Sunday - I suppose to give Donovan Morgan some playing time.

Given that the third receiver on this team is most often the running back, I'm not sure what that point is anymore. I'm tired of Armstrong being inactive so many games and Mathis getting very little time at WR. I'm also tired of watching AJ and Gaffney running nothing more than 5 yard out patterns.

This coaching staff doesn't know how to use receivers, and I'm at my wit's end.

Isn't that the truth!!!
The longest downfield pass went to Rivers the TE. How ridiculous is that, you have AJ and a burner in Mathis and won't throw the ball down field. And Capers:homer: wonders why we have just won 2 games. He says we didn't execute! How can you execute when you have no offense?

we dont throw it downfield because our offensive line is so improved. seriously. we've knocked carr's throw time down to under 2 seconds and he isnt being sacked 7+ times a game anymore. that makes the line look better, it makes carr look better for getting rid of the ball while still upright, but it doesnt do squat for having a real offense.

we have two options. send 4+ guys out on routes and try to give carr time to make reads and throw in a real offense. this method ends up in a record breaking amount of sacks. or we can throw 3 yard quick outs as we're doing now and have carr complete 22 passes for 150 yards. in this one carr doesnt end up planted head first in the ground but we effectively go nowhere passing. with our front five, you're damned if you do & damned if you dont.

that being said, i've been asking why armstrong isnt allowed to play since the beginning of last year and have gotten nothing but a headache.

All Armstrong does is catch the ball. I hope he gets a fair assessment between now and next year and gets his chance here or somewhere else. He's done a good job when called on.

Heads should roll just for throwing the ball to Bradford three straight times last Sunday.

I think given the present situation at PR was why we saw Armstrong inactive for this game. Morgan has been a PR before, they wanted to keep Mathis because of his KR ability. So really the only beef we have is why in the world is Bradford still hanging around and Armstrong isn't?

The only reason for this is poor coaching!

I dont understand why the coaches havent given Darmstrong and J mathis more playing time. The season is long lost so why not see what your young players can do.

I hate never seeing Armstrong's name on the stat sheet because this guy can catch anything thrown at him. In Madden, I dumped Bradford, and Armstrong is my second leading receiver. It makes me happy.

Madden is therapy :)

Last week on 610 am, Charlie Casserly said that Armstrong has poor route running skills and that he has difficulty separating from defenders. I do not know if this is true, but it is his explanation. It is very hard for us as fans to judge route running given we do not know how the play is drawn up. As far as difficulty separating from defenders, I think a lot of this has to do with the teams lack of confidence in David Carr's accuracy to stick the ball in there, Armstrong will catch anything thrown near him. He deserves a chance, you can only improve when given the chance.

Armstrong is a posession guy that doesnt have the size or strength to get seperation like a Keyshaun or Irvin would.

at his size he would need great quickness or speed to get open, and since he doesnt have it, he just cant escape coverage.
