Did anyone notice that a first time starting 3rd string QB got sacked 7 times or so and was hurried all day but still managed to pass for over 300 yds and 3 touchdowms and lead his team to victory?:embarrass
 
He didn't start the game and he wasn't victim of all 7 sacks. Martin was knocked out when Polk sacked him. 100 yards was on the 2 heartbreaking TDs in the 4th Quarter and OT.

Pretty ironic. Word is that his cap hit on the Rams is as small as DC's ability to lead a team to two halves of sound football.

Because we reverted to our same stupid defense on third and long. Rush minimal people and try to cover. Why we even think about trying that I do not know because we can not cover.

what are you trying to say that david is partially to blame for only leading the team to three points you are so wrong. your just blaming him because a 7th round QB look light years ahead of him.
 
If 35-3 didn't teach us about the ineffectiveness of the prevent defense, 24-3 should. Mix in some stupid mistakes by the players into an already weak scheme, and you'll surely give up a 21 point lead to a 3rd string QB.

...especially if they have a lead because then it becomes 'you don't score. we won't score' or 'you can score as long as it's not more than us'---sitting on a lead (though rare now) is a Caper's trademark and a part of 'coaching not to lose.':yahoo:

The offense continued to play well in the 2nd half other than Kris Brown missing a FG to end the first drive and Davis dropping the ball for an INT to end the second drive, then we got a FG on our third and final drive of regulation and could have had a TD if not for that holding call. Sure it was probably a holding but there is basically a holding every play and we always get calls like that at critical times in the game, and the pass interference and roughing the passer at the end of the game were pretty suspect as well, not to mention Jackson's fumble on the goalline that the one official ruled down by contact so we couldn't review. If that had been us fumbling they would have called it a fumble and made us review it to keep the ball.

did anyone notice 102 yards came on two plays (one with less than a minute left and the other in OT)

carr passed for 293 yards 3 tds and int defense got 7 sacks and still gave up 33 points.
 
The touchpass pass the Rams got right before the onside kick was just a perfect pass and a perfect route by the receiver. There were 2 Texan defenders by the guy.

I don't know that I've ever seen a team give up 10 points in 30 seconds or whatever it is. That's obscene.

You forgot to add that we shouldnt blame Carr, just cause the Ivy kid had some heart

I don't think we should blame David, he fought his heart out out there, he came to play and he executed, especially in that first half. He put his pads on one at a time today, he really took a big step. The way he stepped up in the third quarter really tells me something, and his play late, in the OT, when he pulled that ball down and drove ahead for an extra yard, that says it all. OK, he needed 5 yards, so we had to turn the ball over on downs, but that's not David's fault. He was giving a 110% out there today. He showed me something I've been hoping to see. He's such a gamer! Even when he throwing stuff into the dirt he's doing it very accurately! And that bounce pass off DD almost worked, would have if that Rams guy hadn't been there. I mean, I like the way he stands in under a rush and gets the ball off, pinpoint accuracy and going through reads--David is pro bowl material, no doubt.

David Carr can admit to his mistakes, why can't Capers do the same and just admit that he's an incompetent coach?

McNair needs to sever the tie with Capers (along with the rest of the coaching staff), and get some people in there who are capable of piloting this out of control ship.
