What year do you think the Texans will make it to the Playoffs?

As for I'm trying not be pessimistic or anything, but I think the Texans might be a good team by the next decade or so. I just don't see them being a playoff caliber team yet. So my year might be....2014.

2007.

Still dealing with Capers mess, clearing roster for Kubiak's liking by next year.

Hopefully 2006!

Realistically 2008!

If they don't make it by then, I think some heads will roll and will be back to square 1!:crying:

We'll make the plays offs 2007, 2008 and win the Superbowl in 2009

We'll greatly improve this year, but we could still greatly improve on defense IMO. That said, I hope the quality of our D-Line looks this great for many seasons.

Their are fans out here who might have a heart attack if you say it might take 7-8 years just to make the playoffs, I hope our new leadership will not take that long....Superbowl maybe, but I hope that happens sooner than that also. Playoffs 2007. SB 2009 5-6 straight AFC Championships is in our future:hunter: .

MapleLeaf; are you going to be a freshman Oiler next year???

Go Pearland! Go Texans! Roll Tide!

Remember 2004? Almost everyone thought that years of improvement we will make the playoffs in 2005...well we all knew how that turned out. Well you may not be to sure. Plus by my observations based on the roster, leadership level, and reviews of our team it may take that long.

No I am not going to be a freshmen next year, I finished the crappy freshmen year, I'm going to be a sophmore. See my age? A freshmen-to-be is usually 14, while a Sophmore-to-be is usually 15.

And yes GO PEARLAND! GO TEXANS! GO NY GIANTS! GO MAPLE LEAFS! ROLL TIDE!

With my heart, 2006! Superbowl, baby!

With my head, I'd say 2008. We miss the playoffs this year, make it into the second round of the playoffs in 2007, and then go deep the next year, if not take it all outright. GO TEXANS! :redtowel:

Son one day you too will be too old to remember how old you were as a Freshman:tease: . Good luck next year at the main campus!

Word of advice about Sophmore year, Enjoy the hell out of it, Sophmore year is one of the best, Junior years sucks because thats when the hard work sets in, plus having to start getting ready for college *Don't do what I did and wait till the last 3 months of your senior year to start* Then, enjoy the crap out of your senior year, because its going to be fun, you will rule the school, get away with alot more crap *Like walking into class late* and the year will blow by you faster than Jerome Mathis. Enjoy.

Yeah thanks. I have a friend who is going to be senior next year, and she said that her Junior year really did suck. Well I'm just glad that I'm going to one of the best reviewed grade level in America.

GO 2014 TEXANS!!!

I want it to be a playoff season this season but I jus' don't wanna build myself up too early for a major fall like last season so I think we go close to 8-8 and jus' miss the playoffs this season... Go over 8-8 in '07 and make the playoffs...

2 years from now. I'm not sold on David Carr being any type of playoff QB though. To me this is his make it or break it year.

I'll go with 2007 as well. Too many speed bumps to make it this season imo. I wouldn't be suprised if it takes until 2008 though.

2007 and my tickets will not be for sale as our first playoff game will be at home.

So you think we'll win the division?! :superman:

I think 2007 will be our first winning season and we'll get our first playoff appearance with a wildcard spot.

2008 will be our year to win the division, IMO. :texflag:

Barring unforseen catastrophic injury, we will finish with 6-9 Ws this year. 10 is conceivable if we really blow the doors off and the "synergy" really goes into overdrive. But, the NFL is a league with tremendous parity, and as our meltdown against SF demonstrated last year, even the worst teams are capable of winning. We have a tough schedule this year besides, and are smack in the middle of what is probably one of the very toughest divisions in football. Even the Titans and their hordes of new *cough Vince cough* fans are capable of playing some great football, especially against us.

As far as beyond 2006, I see us honestly contending for (though hardly the automatic a lot of people here are saying it will be) the playoffs in 07-08. Again, predicated on us not suffering catastrophic injuries (Carr, Andre, Dunta, etc. going down for half the year or more). Legitimately, we have the talent in place now (though one more good offseason will shore us up), but we will need a year to gel and for all of our underachievers to remember or figure out what winning really is about.

Again, the NFL simply has more parity than any other pro league, and unlike baseball or basketball (where teams can go into a funk for weeks at a time and still turn it around to make the playoffs) the NFL demands consistently high performance week in and week out. Frankly, even with Kubiak's winning tradition and all of our newfound personnel (oh, the joys of depth!), it will simply take time to instill that level of consistency.

I can forecast all day long DB. ;) But please do not ask for any methodology on this one.

I think it's great, man! I admire the optimism. :thumbup

I'd say :fortune:

we get ahmad brooks (if he has truly something to prove and straightens out)

get Adrian Peterson in the draft next season..

playoffs in 2008

I can dream can't I ?

this season I think we will be vastly improved (close to 2004 level)
but we do have a tough schedule

I think we have a decent shot at the playoffs this year.

I have us going 9-7, might make wild card. If not 07 AFC Champs! Woo-Wee!

Look at what the Bears did last year??

2009...

Will need to draft a quarterback next year and he will take 2 years to develop..

During the time he develops we will draft a franchise running back...

The defense will already be in place at that time and AJ should be in his prime...

There are excellent quarterbacks next year to pick with the of the top 3 picks...

Yeah, I am old enough to remember the 69 Mets.

As I recall, they had a bunch of unproven players (wasn't Nolan Ryan on that team as a young wipper?) and there was not much expected from them, till they won the World Series that is.

Giacomo showed some talent, but enough to win the Kentucky Derby last year? Bah, humbug. He payed off about 50 to 1 as I recall.

The Texans had a lot of close games last year with less talent than they appear to have this year, so IMHO, with a few breaks and not too many injuries, a Wildcard spot would not be a terrible shock to me.

Logically, I expect another 2 to 3 years down the road, they will be a solid playoff team.

As you can problably tell, I was a huge fan of Cinderella in my younger days. :fans:
