What would the Texans have to do for you to be pleased with the season?

Keep playing competitive football.

They are still short at a few positions, and I think that will be taken care of in the offseason. Carr has proven to me that has all the tools he needs to play in this league. He played near-flawless football this past weekend. We need secondary help, oline help, one more linebacker, and quality depth at running back. Next year should be fun...

This year they need to hold their chins up and keep their noses to the grindstone. A winning season is on the way.

My list:

1. Beat the Colts...no not just beat them but destroy and embarass them.

2. Figure out how to adjust to the other team's adjustments.

3. Have a game where we put someone away early and have the chance to throw the backups in for a little learning.

4. Become more consistent in the red zone.

5. Better play calling.

I would say to beat the teams we are supposed to beat, and then try and pull off a victory against either the colts or the patriots.. and just stay highly competitive in each game.

Three more wins and I would call this a good season based on where we came from (the depths of Capers induced hell). For all practical purposes, this is a reset of the club to about season #2. We have some talent, a coach that seems to have it all in one sock and 07 should be a startling improvement if we handle the off season and draft as well as this years.

Yep. The positions where we're not getting it right just now are the ones that have either been hit with various injuries or the ones that Capers and co set in place and we couldn't replace this year. I haven't seen a single change that Kubiak has made that hasn't improved that particular aspect of the team. How can that not be a good thing?

Add to that how well our draft class has done this year, how well this year's rookies (Landry, Posluszny...) and likely free agents (Samuel, Briggs...) fit our requirements and I for one am more than a little excited about where this franchise is heading.

For me to be really happy about this season, I'd just like to see us make a game of it vs. the Colts and the Pats. I don't expect us to beat either one, but I hope we make them work for it this time round.

........the people who are saying bench carr are morons.

HELLO he still needs to learn the system people! You keep him as the starter for he can 'master' Kubiak system my friends.....

:wild: you people drive me crazy.

5-11 or 6-10 (Oakland, Tenn, Cleveland - Very possible)...and 6-10 next year

that would make me pleased...i would be very happy finishing 6-10 with a win over NYJ and a loss to Cleveland (as they wouldn't hurt our morale as much - Oakland is the worst team now, we can't tolerate to lose to them, Tenn - we need to win because they are division rivals and NYJ - we need an upset after the Bills loss)

Very happy: 7-9 (Jets, Oakland, Tenn, Cleveland)

Ecstatic: 7-9 (Oakland, Tenn, Cleveland, NE/IND):yahoo:

Blown away: 8-8 (NYJ, Oakland, Tenn, Cleveland, NE/IND) :yikes:

No words to discribe: 9-7 (NYJ, Oakland, Tenn, Cleveland, NE, IND) :bguitar:

^ i think only dancing bananas can show my happines with that outcome

The following is a recent Kubiak quote. I've been professing the same notion for the last 3-4 weeks. The 'baby steps' and 'patience weedhopper' crowd should take note of what the head coach is saying:

"We're not going to talk about (playing well) being progress. Progress is going to be when we start winning those games."

Sounds good-ala what capers use to say every week-but rings 'hollow' with what he has the team doing on the field. Kubiak talks about attacking but then lets the defense dictate his play calling. When he gets a lead, he sits on it, like we did against the Bills when his offense scored ZERO points in the 2nd half.

Sorry, but I'm tired of being told 'what' we need to do on the field and then going out and 'coaching not to lose.' For me to be happy, Kubiak would need to 'practice what he preaches.' He said 'whatever it takes to win' and 'one game at a time'--SURE SOUNDED GOOD--but has not been delivered on the field.

very true.. leads and 2 minute warnings, we seem to go into a shell

I was happy till the last seconds of last weeks game. What would bring a smile back to my face would be:

1 Beat the Titans

2 Win a game to the point that when the camera is pointing at our bench everyone is laughing and relaxed not crossing their fingers and holding their breath

3 Teams like Ind and NE give them a run for their money we are not as good as these teams yet but there is no reason not to hit them in the mouth hard every play and make them think twice before they play us

4 Oak,Cleveland regardless of our record these are must wins

5 Continue to stay in every game no blow outs this includes Indy

All in all I am proud how they have handle their selfs this year losing both our tackles offense and defense not having DD or Mathis new coaches, front office, systems and the fact that we have a ton of injury's and we are playing with backups and are still in every game with the exception of what two and their new never give up attitude it makes me proud to be a Texans.

"What would the Texans have to do for you to be pleased with the season?"

1.Play a consistent season, actually win more than 2 games in a row, and not crash and burn after one great game.

2.Limit the turnovers, and play clean games

3.Split or sweep the division

4.WIN MORE THAN 8 Games!

Nice quote except for the fact that Kubiak then goes on to talk about how David, Mario, Demeco, Owen the Offense and the Defense are all making progress. He says the right things but he knows he doesn't have the horses to win consistantly right now. Look for a second year of personel changes this offseason. And no it will not start with QB.

(1) Quit playing NOT to lose. Start playing to win.
(2) Be Competative even in the games we are supposed to be blown out.
(3) Take some chancesby going downfield, going for it on 4rth and short, and run a two minute drill.
(4) lose the prevent defense.
