What was your projection at the beginning of the year?

I think I picked 8-8 as well, I might have streetched it to 9-7. I sure as hell did not foresee 2-12 at this point.

I was hopelessly optimistic. I thought we would wrap up between 9-7 and 11-5. Somewhere in there based on injuries. I never saw this coming because I believed most everything the Texans told me. I won't be making that mistake again anytime soon.

I said 6-10 or 7-9, and y'all slammed me for being a negative Nellie.

You see, unlike most of you, (and you know you are) I didn't see any sound reasons to have high expectations. But that's under the bridge.

I project 5-11 next year.

I said 9-7 with an outside chance at 10-6. Never, ever did I imagine 2-12 or even 4 - 12. Who knew? I think this team had best go at least 8-8 next year or McNair will be breathing fire and the fans will be ready to start "executing."

I started to worry a little when we let go what I thought were good stable players so early on. We haven't had a TE to speak of since B Miller was let go, although Rivers has been somewhat productive as of resent. I still thought we'd be north of .500 though.

I said 9-7... maybe 10-6. I would of been happy with 8-8. Anything less is a sign of degressing which I didnt see happening at all. The loss of Glenn and Sharper had a far greater affect on our team than I expected.

An improvement was what I was hoping for, and this team seemed like they were on the right track to get better and better.

I was hoping for 8-8. Anything better than that would be icing.

Next year....who knows? idonno: With no idea of our coaching staff and which players will still be here, along with new faces, I'd say it would be optimistic to hope for 6-10.

Looking at the schedule and the loss of veterans I predicted 5-11. I might be 1 shy, but I feel for the 9-7 guys. The same ones that ripped me for calling this out.

I thought 7-9 to 9-7.

Hey but at least I did predict that the Dolphins would win at least 7 games (on that prediction thread). Who else thought that before the season started?

Don't remember exactly, but it was south of 8-8. I was real woried about the leadership on defense due to the loss of Sharper & Glenn. Funny but I actually thought the offense would be fine and maybe inprove a little.

I had us at 9-7 but I didn't expect Cincinnati to be this good, plus I was a little undecided since three of our four best defensive players got cut in the offseason and wasn't sure how they would play this year without them.

I was optimistic with 9-7 or maybe even 10-6. Looking back I couldn't have seen this train wreck coming.

I think we could end up 6-10 next year if we are lucky....have to see how the offseason goes with all that is up in the air. I am hopeful of a solid draft and some quality FA acquistions! :twocents:

9-7, but I didn't know our team sucked. idonno:

I was just wrong about our whole D. I thought our secondary would be OK and I actually thought the LB core would be improved overall. Buchannon, Peek, Babin, Greenwood, Coleman. What a disaster these guys have been this year.

Mine varied between 1 and 3 wins. Again, I was upset with what we have been seeing with the coaching staff and the O-line. Should this ball club be at most a 3 win ball club, not on your life. Coaching has made a shambles of this ball club and its a shame. The Jags game will tell a story. Will they let David call his own game? Will David show once again he can call his own game? Its time for the team and the coaches to grow up.......

I can't say I thought Greenwood would be this bad at tackling, but I hadn't seen anything out of him to suggest he'd be as good as they were hyping. I figured Babin would play about like this, and I didn't see Buchanon and Coleman giving this little heart.

I agree with that. I expected Greenwood to be all over the place. He has played much better as of late, but I did not expect any ramp time for that type of money.

i didnt expect more than 5 wins. losing sharper & glenn, drafting TJ, and getting buchannon & greenwood left me below any chance of .500. going in with the same O-line and coaching staff made 5 wins optimistic.

I guess 4 - 12 if some things went well. I think I may have over shot that. I feel for the ones who thought we were gonna win 12 games this year....

I was thinking 10-6.

It's been a crazy season, but I think the Texans could actually pass .500 next season with the right moves.

I thought 9-7 esp with the hype that was sold to me about our defense being younger and faster. I was looking for a Capers style defense wrecking havok on offenses.. I thought our defense would hold us in games if they stayed healthy..offensively .. I thought we would still struggle some given Joppru's injury at TE and bradford being #2 ... I thought some of the young guys would get a chance to push Bradford out of #2

I had a feeling we were going to do worse this season... 5-11 to 7-9.... Never thought we'd be 2-12...

I really thought we would be a .500 team this year, maybe better.

Thinkful wishing!

BTW- We realy gave Bolquin a hard time when he scored their TD right in front of us!

The Homer in me gazed into his magic 8-ball and saw 16-0. The reasoning is I have been wrong by about 4 wins, year one 8-8, year two 9-7, year three 11-5, so I figured hey lets play for 12-4 so I said 16-0.

Little did I know it was my dsylexic day.

What I really ment to say was 0-16 which then puts us at 4-12.

Sorry.

I don't remember, but I'm pretty sure I thought it would be better than it has been. Of course football is the hardest sport to predict intelligently when you don't get the see the team play every week. (Which is pretty much everybody outside 10 miles of Houston.)

I do remember predicting Capers would keep his job next year no matter what. I'm re-thinking that one.

You know what? I think that's very much an indictment of our defenses system. I've heard on many different occaisions that Vic Fangio's defense is complicated and difficult to pick up. I think that's where we get guys like Greenwood coming here and becoming a statue that doesn't tackle. Look at our linebackers in 2002 and you see Posey, Wong, Foreman, and Sharper. These four guys got the defense fed to them slowly from day one in small bites and they did fine. Guys brought in since then have taken longer to get up to speed.

Now obviously Sharper can play and I think the same thing holds true for Wong. Posey bolted the first chance he got and he's done fine in Buffalo. Foreman started here for three years and then couldn't make a roster? He was that bad? What kept him starting here for three years if he was that bad? It was IMO the learning curve of this defense. If he had come to this team in 2004 he wouldn't have made the cut.

I said 5-11 after i saw Sharper and Glenn get released .... Some around here called me Chicken Little .....I like to think im more of a realist ..... Reality sucks . Especially if yer a Texans Fan

I said it would be 6-10 or 5-11. I thought we would be a better team, but we had a hard schedule to get by. Corrosion they said crap about me also, but we were real, we lost leadership and players, and did not add anything.

I picked 10-6 and was therefore pretty shocked by all of the losing. The first year, I predicted the record exactly, and years 2 and 3, I was only off by one game. Being off by at least 6 games this season is pretty humbling.

i think i said something like .....

i will settle for 8-8 but wanted 10-6

next year i see 5 wins maybe 7
2006

HOME
Buffalo
Miami
Philadelphia
Washington
AFC North
AWAY
New England
NY Jets
Dallas
NY Giants
AFC West

I actually predicted 3 - 13. I felt that when we skipped on DJ that was the start of trouble. Then a crappy FA shopping, and our only win with guys not even on our roster against the Raiders. I said we be lucky to win 3:twocents:

12-4 :(

I know, overly happy and all that, but I'll rather wear pink glasses before the season starts than to look towards offseason from week1 :)

hm... 12-4, 12 are losses right, I might still make it ;)
