What else can I do?

Hervoyel

BUENO!
Ok, so IMO the Texans wasted their first pick on a workout warrior who's more likely to bust than dominate. That's what I think and nothing is going to change that.

Now it's about the remaining choices in the day. Williams was (again IMO) a big gamble. Bush is a New Orleans Saint and that's over with. Young is in Tennessee where I always thought he'd be.

Maybe Reggie goes to the Jets, maybe not. I don't care.

I'm all about the rest of our picks now. What else can I do? I can't go burn my stuff and become a Cowboys fan. Screw that.

hey just go grab some Shiner, take a seat and just watch the insanity :)

I am very curious to see whats gonna happen with our next pick.

This is what I don't get about some fans here (not you Herv). Many of you are saying you will be Cowboys fans or Titans fans. If you are going to give up on the Texans why would you go be a fan of a team you previously hated? If we are all jumping ship I will go be a fan of the Giants (used to live in NY) just so I can watch my new team kick the crap out of your Cowboys twice a season. ;)

When I was a kid the entire city was Cowboy fans in the mid 70's before Earl. The Oilers never sold out and were only on TV on the road while the Cowboys were on every week, so they continued to capture all the young fans. This franchise is on the same road and needs to wake up. You don't draft "for need" with the first overall pick. You don't take workout warriors, who didn't produce on the field. Peppers was unstoppable his SR year, plus had great measurables. Williams only beat up weak opposition, and had the workout warrior workout. This pick is just like the Carr pick...measurables over football savvy and instinct.

I'm pretty sad....I'm not angry. I'm just disappointed in the management so much....hard to put into words.

At least you'll give it a shot, and not write off 2006 already. That's what disgusts me. Hopefully Vinny, you're wrong and Mario becomes a great player for us.

true dat. I hate to see all this anger...but its part of what makes me sad...this isn't an "expansion city"...we understand fooball like an old NFL city. I don't think our management does though. I mean, they have done such a good job so far we have the first overall pick after 4 years of building this franchise and continue to make the same flawed mistakes when it comes to talent observation.

I get you Hookem. I just don't have any alternative. I'm from Houston and I'm a Houston fan. Oilers, Texans, doesn't make any difference. I've been assigned my football team by the powers that be.

All I can do at this point is hope that Williams works out and that they make the best possible use of their remaining choices. I've enjoyed the Texans run in free agency so maybe the rest of the draft will be more like that with more picks that make sense.

Many of you out there who are M.Williams fans are mistaking all this anger as a being anti-Williams. I'm sure there are some fans who genuinely think he's a bust, but I'm sure Williams is a good a player. What this issue is about is: What player will have a bigger impact? Bush or Williams? Some say both are going to have positive affect on their respective teams, but because Bush will touch the ball 15-16 times a game he is clearly the better prospect. Williams best assett is his pass rush ability but it takes time to develop into a dominant DE in this league. And time is simply not an option for Texans fans right now. Back to my point, Bush has that cutback ability like I've never seen before and very very few players have. And combined with his receiving skills and speed it makes him a truly special player. I'm afraid it's one of those decisions that will make fans wonder during Texans game what Bush or VY is doing for their teams. Williams could be a stud, but in the end you want to get value at the no.1 pick, someone who gets to touch the ball and have an instanct impact. And with Williams we don't get that option.

So its kinda funny/odd that when we had a D minded coach we draft a QB #1 overall. As soon as we get a O minded coach, we use the #1 overall on a DE.
