What do you expect from Reggies pro day???

Dunta_23

Rookie
What do you think his 40 will be?

Will be impress scouts?

Will he catch the ball well, etc?

I think he will/should run a blazing 40...4.30-4.35..he just looks so fast!!!

I think Bush will tear up the 40...anything above 4.35 would surprise me and I could see him hitting the 4.25-4.28 range.

I expect any questions about his pass-catching ability (for those who haven't been paying attention) will be answered, emphatically.

Agility drills? Are you kidding me?

I foresee a bit more solidarity on these boards after April 2nd.

Unlike others, who aren't taking their draft position seriously, All I hear is how hard Reggie is working to get in "NFL Shape" & his desire to be picked #1 overall. I expect him to be at the top of his game & impress EVERY one. Even the Vince/Trade down lovers. Leinart will look good too I am guessing, canceling any beliefs of Vince to the Titans. :twocents:

Really can't wait to see Reggie run the 40:superman:

I expect Gary Kubiak and Bob McNair to be there. Smiling. :D

Don't get your hopes up.

to be honest i think if runs anything higher than a 4.4 40 i think it's going to be a disapointment...the story on this is kid is that he is crazy fast like mathis and has the agility of barry sanders...so if he's not running atleast in the 4.3's i think it's going to make every step back and think for awhile...now what do i think he's gonna run...after watching film on the kid i see him running the in the 4.2's...that's what i would be expecting from him

Do you really think that he is going to be able to run the 40 in the 4.2's. That is crazy fast. Isnt that faster than Mathis.

This is what I expect:

Reggie Bush will have a very solid Pro Day.

There are less things that he will be asked to do that will involve interpretation--like it is for QBs.

Matt Leinart will have a very solid Pro Day too, but will be stumped when asked why his name violates the "i before e except after c" rule.

Hahahaha. Seriously, if that doesn't drop his draft stock, I don't know what will.

And that is part of the beauty of RB in general -- less scrutinized that QB's whose names start with Vince and end in Young. RB position simply features less intangibles to measure or consider, and there have been less questions asked about Reggie to this point. Put up hot measurables and solidify your top 3 status (some would say top status, but I haven't fully conceded him going to the Texans just yet.)

I think Reggie can run a 4.28, 4.29. I expect however he will run in the low to mid 4.3s.

Yeah, it would be faster than Mathis. I think he'll record times b/t 4.29 and 4.44. He's put on some weight though, so I'm not sure how much it'll affect his acceleration.

Reggie Bush used to be a high school sprinter(100 & 200m) as well and was in the top 5 in California if I remember correctly... So to say that his speed is comparable or maybe better than Mathis' isnt far off...Id love to see him hit mid 4.2's...and have the league go into a frenzy...and the way he apparently works out and trains...it probably isnt out of the picture

I just don't see him running anything faster than a 4.28, hopefully I'm wrong :superman:

Nice bit of info. I didnt know that. Maybe his speed is better than I thought it might be. I was think mid to high 4.3's. But wow, 4.2's thats flying. Man you put the speed of Mathis in a guy that can cut back like Reggie with Reggie's vision. Thats deadly.

It was on another thread but in 2002 Reggie won the Boys 50m race at the LA Indoor Track and Field event with a time of 5.87 and came in second place the next year with a time of 5.85 (lost by .03 seconds). I know it isn't exact, but if you convert 50m to 40y he ran in the mid to high 4.2 range.

I don't care what he runs personally. (to be fair, I didn't care that Vince ran slower than expected) I could care less if he runs a 3.98 or a 5.98. All I care about is how many guys were able to catch him from behind? Case closed. :ok:

Elaborate please.

I think he means that he has never seen Reggie Bush get tackled from behind, meaning nobody has ever caught him, therefor no matter what his 40 time is, he is "fast enough"

Thanks. that's what i was hoping that he meant, because if he was trying to go the other way. I was going to have a fit.
]I have put my "hoe" money on the line folks! yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
Thats a gutsy thing to do, as long as you beleive in the Super Mario!

Precisely. 40 times are way over rated imo. I am more interested in knowing the guys speed with pads on, and also some guys have better game speed than others. If 40 times were all that important, Carl Lewis would be in the HOF, and Jerry Rice would be fixing automobiles at some run down repair shop in Mississippi. All I know is that the guy outruns every DB and LB in College, so that's all I care about.

HOLY COWHIDE!

WELL, I fully expect for the whole crew of "obviously USC biased" commentator's from the ESPN USC FLUNKY UNIVERSITY to casually stroll around the palm tree/manicured grounds of the USC athletic fields with their lips uber glistening in lieu of the post marks via reggie bush's butt cheeks.......

FOR GOD ONLY KNOWS HOW THEY HAVE HELPED HIM ALL ALONG.......

This kid is only human......and he will perform as only a human being can be allowed/expected to perform, respectively speaking that is........

If he is the consumate professional, then he will perform as such. For after all.......ESPN did however succeed in granting him the all important HEISMAN TROPHY. Am I correct? Therefore, if he is indeed worthy of this all important acclaim/accolade........then this WHOLE THREAD IS HEREBY IRRELEVENT!

VINCE YOUNG......continue to "TAKE DEAD AIM"! For the BURNT ORANGE FORCE IS WITH YOU.......
MONARCH

I predict that Reggie will pull up at the 30 yard mark & watch from the sidelines, as Lendale White takes it through the finish line. No time. Did not finish. :D :stirpot:

once he doesnt run anything 4.5+ i dont care...and the only reason id care then is that it would increase the pressure not to take him, ie. not any football reason.
that being said i cant see him running anything 4.4+- he was a sprinter so hes just as fast in shorts as in pads-i expect a low 4.3...and a 4.2 would change alot of opinions from casual fans who want VY

He may noy show alot. I read on a post where the Texans FO is meeting with him the night before. Don't be surprised if he just goes thru the motions and avoids any type of nagging injury.:stirpot:

I think reggie bush will run about a 4.19:superman:

and then he will run a second time, and run so fast that his feet burn off, then he can only run a 7.0 when he is drafted

Man, that is cold.....

I expect a sub 4.4 forty.
I expect impressive (to scouts) cone drills.
I expect him to solidify the notion that he's a good receiver.

However, I'm not going to put an emphasis on any of that. If he blows up and runs a 4.1, benches 37 reps...who cares?

Seriously, what are you going to gain about a player's ability w/o pads, w/o contact, under controlled conditions in a 4 to 5 hour workout that you weren't able to obtain through 3 years of on the field performance?

Are they going to run drills that illustrate how well he's able to pick up a blitz?

If he did that I would care. For other teams players. 37 reps damn sounds like he could stiff arm defenders with his pinky. A 4.1 40 damn is he speedy Gonzalez's cousin. Damn.

Realistically I expect him to run in the mid 4.2's to low 4.3's. and Bench 24-27 times. and a 40 in. vert.

I think Reggie should just get waisted beforehand and go out there and stumble around laughing. :)

He might figure out how to accidentally change direction in mid-air or something.

It doesn't matter as long as he runs less than 4.4 he will be fine. I want to see him catch the ball consistently and would like to see if he has strengthened at all. I don't think any player coming out of college is just automatically going to be great but I think this player is something special and it will be nice for him to be able to split carries with DD because I think that will benefit him. I mean look at most of the teams now a days they have 2 solid backs to keep them healthy. I would to see them start working on a contract when they are there at USC so we know what is going on. Battle Red all the way. "Hey Mr. at the counter can I get a Reggie Bush Battle Red Jersey. Thanks!!!! :ok: "

I predict the Pro Day will end with Reggie Bush and Vince Young in a duel to the death. No more wondering, no more questions, no more decision to make. Our draft pick and the fate of the free world to be decided on this one fight.

Who do you pick? Quick, small guy, or big lanky guy? Reggie had a better Wonderlic ... if that isn't an indication of who will kick who's butt, I don't know what it is.

Reggie by TKO in less than 60 seconds.

:stirpot:

Bush's speed is kind of wierd. In one game, he's just blazing fast, yet on another, he's being caught from behind. In the Rose Bowl, he was nearly picked off by a Texas linebacker. Maybe that was Leinhart's fault, but hey, a Texas linebacker made a play on him. And on Bush's fumble in the 1st half, I bellieve he was chased down by someone. Yet on another play, he simply outruns Michael Huff to the endzone. I'm not really sure what to expect on his 40-time. Anything below a 4.4 is definitely not good though. His cone drills will be interesting as well.

What I really want to know is how well he can run routes. His hand are great I'm sure. Is this guy really the bes reciever in the draft as well? I'd sure like to find out. You rarely see someone who is the best player in the draft at 2 positions.

I think he comes out and runs a 4.32. Then, not being happy with that, he takes off his glasses and puts on his SuperBush suit and cape and clocks a 4.27 on his second one.:superman:
