What AJ thinks about PBuch now

humbleone

Waterboy
I have been wondering what AJ thinks about PBuch now and how things have gone. When he came, a big deal was made about them being best buds etc...

So do any of you guys know where his head is on PBuch these days...PBuch's fault, coaches fault etc...? With McNair lighting up Casserly publicly over the trade for him, I'm just wondering what AJ thinks about PBuch these days. Go Texans...the turnaround has already begun!!!:redtowel:

If I would take a wild guess, I'd say that Dre falls into the P-Buc was misused camp - that he is a finesse type CB like Deion Sanders (not as good obviously, but same type) that didn't fit the defensive scheme. I also think he knows it is hard to judge the DBs when they have to cover receivers longer than normal because of the poor pass rush we had for the majority of the season.

I think they are probably still friends because I doubt Dre is so shallow as to base his friendships on on-field performance.

There. Fixed it for you.

Babin got his first sack of the season in the fourteenth game. Hello?

Someone correct me if I am wrong...but I was at the game Sunday and had seats just behind the Texans bench, and Pburnt was nowhere to be found. It seems kind of odd that a player, even if injured isn't somewhere around the sidelines. DD was very prominent as an example. Not sure what (if anything) to read into it.

I haven't canceled P-Buc's ticket just yet. I agree with some of what has been voiced already on here, namely that he is a physically talented CB who has played under a ridiculously awful defensive system. Hoke is a good and maybe a great defensive backs coach, but all the footwork in the world won't help P-Buc to intercept a ball in the zones we play. His tackling has been suspect, sure, but other than that, it is difficult to analyze his play because our defensive coordinator continues to run an inept system since day one. I say, give him a new coach, a new system, and see how he responds.

I agree. Moreover, I believe his cap hit this year was 700k and next year is around 800k.

If he's under contract, then there's no real reason to get rid of him. If his contract is up, then there's no real reason to re-sign him, either. I think he has one more year, so hopefully he can step it up under a new regime.

I guess since DD has been a game-time decision, he would be around when the game started and would stay. If you're hurt for sure, chances are you'll be watching the game from home, rehab or a booth.

On P-buc, I too am not ready to let him go. He has displayed incredible skills and I believe that if the defensive scheme were changed to accomodate his type of DB (such as adding a pass rush), he would excel with us. Zone-coverage (Houston style) and bad D-lines are the DEVIL! :)

I saw Joppru there and a few other people who may have been players that I didn't recognize.

Joppru is special. He's not paid to be on the field, but on the sideline, that's been his sole job so far in H-town :)

Yep - too bad we couldn't have picked a sure thing like Winslow Jr.

I agree with this he should get a little more time...look how far we have come already, it won't hurt to see what happens with a new regime. Among any criticism, I won't forget what he did in the Cleveland game.
