What about Rodrique Wright?

El Tejano

Hall of Fame
At one time this guy was a real big prospect. I haven't heard anything about this guy.

What # do yall think he will fall to and what round do you think he will end up at?

I think he will still go 2nd round. Depending on his work out. But he is a good kid, and should be a good DT at the next level. He is no Wilfork, but he will still be a good DT.

2nd round to the Packers.

He could be a star, he could be a 5 year guy or he could be posting on this board in two years. Whoever takes him needs to find out what makes this guy tick and keep pressing that button.

seriously, wasnt this guy supposed to be a top 10 pick if he came out last year?
My guess is hes going in the second round.

Wright is a great player that seems to lack motivation and play down to his opponents level. If he is under the right d-line coach, they could make him a perinail pro bowler, they just haqve to know how to get him to play hard all the time.

Positives

- Wright might be one of the most athletic big men in all of college football. He moves very well on his feet for a man of his size. Rod has been a starter and an anchor for the Longhorn defense since his freshman season. He has the rare combination of speed and strength that make him equally effective against both the pass and the run. Wright is willing and able to take on double teams to allow his teammates to make plays. He has good recognition instincts and is a very able wrap up tackler. Durability may be a slight question with him, but he has shown a willingness to play through pain. Wright has also developed into a team leader during his time in Texas.

Weaknesses

- Wright's production took a hit during his junior season when he suffered a serious ankle injury early on. He relies a bit too much on his strength and speed to penetrate the line. He will need to develop some hand moves to be truly effective against pro blockers. Wright has also been labeled as lazy in the past, but that seems to be behind him now.

Overall Analysis

- Wright is definitely an elite prospect that has the potential to be a truly dominating player at the next level. He already possesses all of the physical traits NFL personnel look for at his position, but he will need some refinement to become great. Even though he may need work, there is little doubt that Wright will make an immediate impact when he does become a pro. The slip in production during his junior season is still a concern though. His ability to effectively defend against both the run and the pass is rare and that alone will make him a hot commodity on draft day 2006.

Agreed.

(Where did you find this summary of him at?..link please.)

Boy, I used the link to look up D'Brick and under the "reminds you of" category, they had Anthoy Munoz! No small praise. Nuff said..
