Or we could take Lynch with the 8th pick. I don't think some people here realize how good he is going to be.
Well, that is one advantage of having so many holes, we could trade down and try to get him wth a lower pick (and if he is gone, then we fill another hole with BPA). If Lynch is the target, I would say try to trade down to 14/15 (we could ask for a 3rd and 4th to trade down but maybe we are willing to take just the 3rd (or try to get a 3rd next year also) - point trade chart says we should get a 3rd and 4th).
Logis behind targeting spot 15 is Lynch is the target:
There are only a few teams that will consider a RB in the first round (either they have a good one or they have other really pressing needs):
Teams that need RB:
Cleveland (pick 3/4) - they pick in front of us and are the most likely to take AP.
Green Bay (pick 16) - So, we could trade down to 15 and feel safe on Lynch. - the wildcard with GB would be if they trade up.
Giants (20)
Jets (25) - They really need a RB and might deal up - but they have so many holes I doubt they pay the price to move up.
Philly (26)
Teams that have a decent veteran and just drafted a young RB: Atl (Dunn/Norwood), Carolina, NE, Jax, Dallas, Indy, Chic, NO
Teams that have one solid RB: Oakland, Detroit, TB, AX, Wash, Minn, Miami, SF, St.L., Pitt, Cncy, KC, SD, Seattle, Buff
Probably only look for RB after round 1: Balt (JLewis is still solid), Denver (the Bell combo doesnt work but they like lower RBs)
Teams that will look for RB - and might even deal up:
Cleveland - Droughns is not the answer
Green Bay - Ahman is probably gone and not reliable
Philly - Westbrook is solid but they could use a big back
Jets - NEED a RB
Giants - might look for a small back with Tiki gone
