Wentz, Goff, or Lynch

I think the Texans have to draft one of them.

We don't have enough quality tapes on Wentz and Lynch, so it's hard to "compare" them with Goff.

Wentz has experience under center, and he looks to be athletic, but he's hurt.

Lynch seems to have all the tools, but his performance under duress is still questionable.

Goff had seen his share of poor decisions under pressure, albeit against better competition.

I really can't tell 123 since these guys saw different levels of competition.

They all have tools.

Big-time arm Lynch
Overall atheliticism Wentz
Big program cool Golf.

We're not going to have tapes of them against equivalent opponents.

I think it's hard to decide who's no. 1.

Cook also doesn't play in an offense that allows him to drop back and pick a one-read stationary target as often as the other three guys. This while playing in clear better competition than two of them.

I'm not suggesting who's ranked necessarily where among the four, just that Cook has earned discussion as one of them.

Honestly, Lynch and Wentz are the only 2 I've looked at even a little bit. And I've seen Cook a couple of times on TV but that was in a full game, not break down tape like the other 2. And I haven't seen Goff at all, just know that he's struggled the last 3 games or so. So my evaluation is incomplete at best. Really don't get into it that much until after NFL.

I like Lynch so far, and am hoping to get a look at him in person in a couple of weeks. Cook would be my 2nd choice. As I've mentioned, Goff's struggles recently concern me and I just haven't seen anything out of Wentz in the 3 games I've watched. I don't think he connected on a single deep ball in those 3 games and quite a few of his throws were off allowing defenders to make a play instead of putting it where only his receiver could.

And where these guys fall on people's boards and where the Texans end up in the draft is becoming more of a problem. I see Lynch taking over the #1 spot on a lot of boards and if that's the case, the Texans have no shot at getting him. In fact, unless the Texans can get inside the top 10, they may not have a shot at Lynch, Cook or Goff.

As I said in another thread, I fear the Texans, because of their draft position, will end up missing out on the top 3 and end up taking Hackenberg in the 2nd and we'll still be in QB hell for the foreseeable future.

Against Montana Wentz played 2nd half with high ankle sprain but continued to play the schedule and in his 6th game against South Dakota Wentz broke a bone in his throwing wrist in the 2nd drive but continued to play the rest of the game.
