Welcome to H-Town Jarrett Patterson

Nick Broeker played LG and was playing LG for the Bills when they tried to sneak him onto their PS.

That’d be one heck of a draft and PS find for Caserio, if Patterson stays at Center, Scruggs slips in at RG, and Broeker finds his footing at LG.
Looks like we need a LT now. Which one of these guys could slide over to play LT?

What are you doing with Shaq Mason and his contract thru 2026? Nick a 7th round pick IMO needs to play a bit more at OG than just 2022. I am glad he's on PS but don't expect much going forward.

Broeker was a 3 year starter on the left side of the OL at Ole Miss. He never missed a start. He had 23 starts at LT and 13 at LG. He might be the best option…..even if he’s a rookie.

Oh?

I hadn't realized Broeker was an LT option. I was thinking he was just one of the legion of interior guys were were taking a shot on to take up the slack at C and LG.

This guy has done an outstanding job. Kudos

Playing as well as he has although not getting starter reps in TC/Preseason is awesome.

Scruggs should be the new starting LG. Do y'all think they put Howard at LT and keep Fant at RT, Or move Fant to LT and put Howard at RT? I would keep Fant where he is for now because he's playing well at RT. BTW, Deculus played way above my expectations and is a quality backup.

Depth on the OL, haven't seen this down on Kirby in a while. Trading those 5th 6th rd picks for Jones and Kendrick Green looks like a very smart move.

I was assuming if Tunsil is still out Howard kicks to LT as Fant has the right side under control and Tytus has played both sides well. I would imagine if Scruggs is ready they check out the best combo of him and Patterson at LG/C. Patterson has played well, but he seems more likely the Guard to me. I did not think much of Deculus in pass blocking, his reps were slow feet and stiff and every speed rush he did not even really touch or carry his guy past the QB, the pass protection was a lot to do with the scheme and quick release. Deculus sure seems like a guard to me

I heard there is some hope that Tunsil returns this week. If Howard is also ready to return, this line looks a whole lot better.

I like Patterson at Center, however there's certainly a case for Patterson to be moved to LG because he was better at LG than C at Notre Dame.

I'm with you on Howard at LT. Deculus while probably avg to below avg, did better than I thought he would and was the starting LT that put up 30 pts on a good Steelers defense, so that's a valuable swing OT. IMHO

Scruggs should be back soon too.

How bad was Kendrick Green hurt yesterday.

ok, I will give you Deculus was better than I thought which was I thought this could be a disaster. They also played Gerion a bit, not sure what the rotation was about, maybe just keeping them fresh. Anyways, the o-line will have good depth when the bodies start returning, but may not be able to stash everyone

The offensive blocking scheme used by Strausser may be a better fit for Patterson at Center than the scheme used at Notre Dame. Same could go for Scruggs playing LG.
