Week 9: Texans vs Buccaneers

It's unbelievable. I understand the concept of having your five best lineman on the field, but Howard is not good at guard. I can't imagine Broeker could possibly be worse.
Howard needs to be at RT. Period.

At this point, it's either arrogance or incompetence that they don't even consider moving Howard back to RT. This OL combination isn't working. They have put their two highest paid OL on the left side and yet, when you need a one-yard run, you cannot even count on running to the left to get that one yard. What's the point?

This team can be so frustrating at times
I was joking when I wrote that I believed the Texans would win by at least 14 points. But I didn't expect them to look this bad. It's looking more likely the Texans will lose by at least 14.

They are frustrating but I've learned over the years I can easily turn them off and not give them a second thought. That's what I did last Sunday at the start of the third quarter. I might be doing that again today. It's no different to me than watching a movie and turning it off 20 minutes in because I'm bored.

Maybe Pierce "not fitting the scheme" isn't the problem with the running game. Throw prime Adrian Peterson behind this run blocking and he'd look like a JAG.

That's what I concluded several weeks ago. Jim Brown couldn't run behind this line.

I do think this group could run block in a ZBS, but that requires too much coaching and experience for a makeshift squad.

That roughing call was pure shite!!!!! Perryman would’ve had to been on his knees to avoid that contact point.

Yep. Bang bang play. Perryman came in low and receiver dropped his head at the point it wasn’t possible for Perryman to change momentum. Just an example of the rules favoring offense.
If you want to avoid hits like that you’ll have missed tackles… which there are a lot of. Hard to play defense these days.

Don't they normally have at least one player that kicked in Highschool or something?

You’ve got to figure that Johnson must’ve been kicking FG’s at some point in his life. If not, let the 2-point conversion become the call of the day.

The call was leading with the helmet
