First place in the AFC South is on the line in Week 8 when the Indianapolis Colts (4-3) visit the Houston Texans (5-2) in their second matchup of the season.

Indianapolis capitalized on a depleted Miami Dolphins team to get a close home victory. Now the Colts are above .500 for the first time this season despite some struggles on both sides of the ball.

Houston fell just short against the Green Bay Packers in a back-and-forth game that ended the three-game win streak for the Texans. They're still a top contending team in the AFC, and the Texans could strengthen their lead in the division with a second victory over the Colts. Can Indianapolis pull off the upset and change the course of the AFC South?
 
I guess the first thing I'd like to know is, who's the Colts QB this Sunday? Are they going with the QB that throws under 50% and has a 1:2 TD to INT ratio? If the Colts want to compete for a playoff spot in 2024, they can't stay with Richardson. Flacco gives them a slight chance, but a chance all the same.

For me it’s if JT is playing. If he’s not, we should be good. If he does, this game could prove to be tougher than it probably should be.
 
IMO prove to me you know how to win again.

3 turnovers, TOP advantage and you still lose, to me is inexcusable. The D got you 3 free tries so even if they allowed 24, they did almost everything you can ask of them in those 3 TO. CJ got 86 yards, so either CJ sucks or coaching is a liability. I don't believe CJ sucks.

Add in that the first Colts meeting was close, I'm not giving the Texans the win until they prove to me once again they know how. 5-2 proves you knew how to win.

IF the Texans dont come out of the Colts game making a statement in a good way....the rest of the season will be ugly and we may even lose to the BYE.

I found my Negative Nancy again. Destroy the Colts, I may be able to channel my inner Postive Pauline again.
 
I think the Texans will win this game. I also think the offense will play much better than last week. This should be a statement game to the rest of the AFC South that the Texans own this division. I expect to see a very motivated team on Sunday.
 
My main concern is that the Texans wont have the zone beater Nico Collins in this game. I think the Colts will sell out to stop Mixon without Nico threatening deep.

It’s up to Tank and Diggs to make them pay for that.

Defensively, I think the team can clean up the communication issues that allowed the big plays last game. Hopefully Autry knocked off the rust and will be able to make an impact on this game.

That way we play our division opponents before & after the halfway point in the season.

Me, I wish they would make the schedule in a manner that had the first 3 and last 3 games of the season be against division opponents.
 
Very important game for all the reasons we know being a division game with the Colts.

But we also have a three game road trip following this game. Startint with a short week against a Jets team that just added two high end players to their rotation.

Then the Lions the week after that. Then the Cowboys…

Lose here and Texans could easily be 5-6 before we know it. Cannot let the season get out of control. Have to take control here and let the Colts know who runs the AFC South.

Every team aims to nullify the opposition attack whether it be in the air or on the ground.
Texans need to find a way to make sure that doesn't happen to them.

The Lions are at home. But it will be a tough game nevertheless...
 
Texans vs Colts:

Colts lead the series 33-12-1

We have swept the Colts only once. That was in 2016.

Week 6 - 10/16/16 - 26-23
Week 14 - 12/11/16 - 22-17

In 2022 we won & tied the Colts (that week 18 win knocked us out of the #1 spot in the draft) giving us a 1-0-1 record.

Week 1 - 09/11/22 - 20-20
Week 18 - 01/08/22 - 32-31

I'm really worried about this too.

There are no field stretchers in the Texans WR corps.

I think if we had an average to above average OL we’d be putting up 30 every week. Would probably outscore most even with the average db’s we have..
