Davis Mills has shown some promise but it is not consistent enough. I have no such bias as I have been one of Mills biggest supporters but in spite of all the weaknesses on the whole team, there is enough footage of Mills playing poorly when opportunites presented themselves that he just doesn't have what it takes. As I said on another post, he would be better suited to play in the USFL or XFL next spring. Maybe that would work towards his improvement to where he can benefit some team in the NFL as a solid back up.

I think Mills has some talent But I’m not sold on him by any means. Before this year started I caught hell for suggesting that if we end up with a top 5 pick next year we should move on from him and I still believe that barring some insane circumstances.
im not sure what you expect from him in this game with what he has to work with. This is prob the least talented offensive unit in the NFL. Our OL is getting their asses handed handed to them. our two starting WRs Don’t seem interested in in playing today. Our TEs (we have TEs?) never mind. Our two OTs are *******. Our center And right guard don’t belong in the nfl. Our OC is doing nothing to help Mills.
Wwould it accomplish to pull Mills at this point?

did you stop reading before I said…and add a couple of weapons? Also I think it’s BS. Look I know Watson is a turd off the field, but tell me all the great weapons he was throwing to his last year here…with an inferior line btw. And had one of the best stat lines in the league. So I’m not buying what you are selling. This OC is complete trash and isn’t scheming guys open. No motion, misdirection, rubs, or anything else. That said a better QB, even with this crappy scheme, would help immensely.

Our OL is terrible
The Titans are getting all kinds of pressure rushing just 3 or 4. The receivers can't get open. Pep can't seem to call an offense to save his life. People think Allen will perform better. It is absolutely laughable.
Tennessee's back 4 is among the worst in the league. We should have been able to make this a game passing the ball. But someone thought it best to attack Tennessee's run defense
Our run game isn't that good. We shouldn't be thinking 50/50 balanced offense. They should have started the game trying to get the passing game going.
Run, run, throw on third & long is not going to get it on this team.
Isn't there something about refusal to change and insanity ??

I’m pretty certain I saw Q pat Walker on the arse as he ran right by him to sack Mills. Guys, I don’t think any NFL QB could’ve overcome this dismal Texans offense today.

I can totally understand that this is a process. Still, with Mills obviously not a part of our longterm future I don't think it can hurt to bench Mills. I doubt our back ups are the answer but with new blood maybe we get a little something more from the offense. Not likely as the talent does not seem to exist for such but anything is possible.

While I agree with you, our Oline has been getting eaten alive, and Mills hasn't had time to set up to throw.

That's what we're seeing now when we have to throw. Had they got the offense going early it would have been different.

One of the worst games I've ever watched. Only the O'Brien blowouts have been worse.
I'm not against benching Mills, but looking at the bigger picture it's best that he starts the rest of this yr. If not next yr too. The better the picks the better for the Texans. This is where the franchise is.
