Game of the week: Steelers at Jaguars

Last year, the Jags were lucky enough to catch the Steelers without Ben Roethlisberger and happily accepted when Tommy Maddux handed them a victory in overtime. The loss fated the Black and Gold to a No. 6 seed in the AFC, a slot from which they made their remarkable road march to the championship.

This year, Pittsburgh fans will get to see their team in person in the playoffs, thanks in part to a payback victory this Monday night in Jacksonville.

Whether Big Ben plays or not — and I'm guessing he will — Maddux is not around to gift-wrap the game, so Jacksonville will have to earn this one. With the Steelers' run first — and second and third — approach, Charlie Batch (three TD passes in Week 1) proved to be a worthy custodian under center while No. 7 heals from his appendectomy.

Fast Willie Parker ran for 115 yards behind the best run-blocking line in football as Jeff Hartings, Alan Faneca and Marvel Smith paved over the right side of the Dolphins' defense.

And as if a game against the defending champs wasn't a tall enough order, the Jags lost sack leader Reggie Hayward for the season in Week 1. Fred Taylor may have enjoyed a one-week dip in the Fountain of Youth, but the Steel Curtain will remind everyone how many miles the oft-injured back has on his tires.
