Week 16 Gameday: Jaguars at Texans

Mthis is not a punt returner.

I think the Texans are getting the bad end of a few of these calls. There is no way that is as roughing the passer on Robaire Smith.

That drive took over 7 minutes off of the clock. We (Texans) need to be efficient and score again to win this game....................

I don't know who this Garrard guy is but to me he's better than Leftwich....well maybe I shouldn't say that because I don't see him that much. But he looks pretty good for a second stringer.

Pretty good game so far.

I wonder if they will try a play-action pass soon? Didn't they have two guys wide open on the left in the last drive? Maybe I am just not understanding the gameplan.

5 for 6 passing, 15 running plays..................

2-12... less than 2 minutes in the half... basically playing for a field goal... this is a perfect example of why this whole organization is a complete failure.

Yeah baby!!!!!!:redtowel:

13-10

Now let's get a TO to close out the half.

With 14 seconds you take a timeout and run up the middle and take another timeout. Sort of looks and sounds like us......................

Hopefully the Texans will implement some play-action passes in their game after the half. The Jags are keying on our runs really hard and we could get some big plays with a fake.

Assuming our coaches can make adjustments...

I'm happy for the Texans that the Jags played it that way, but what opportunity did they give their team. I'm sorry, but I just shake my head at some of these end of the half and game strategies.......

So far our game plan is to run with an occasional pass. Its been 2/3 run 1/3 pass roughly. I keep thinking this team is a ticking bomb that just needs new coaching. Yes, we are ahead, but you just have to wonder.

Part of what we are doing is the result of coaches scared of our weak defense. I think both teams are killing the clock to hide weaknesses in their defenses. The drives have been long clock killers using the run............

niners score ten points in final two minutes only down by three now, great to see both our teams fighting for a win, good luck guys

The Jags have 19 rushing plays and 18 passing plays. We have 7 passing plays and 16 rushing plays. They are obviously more balanced than we are and have obviously had more offensive opportunities. We have a lead, but I think we are on the ragged edge. The second half is where we wear down.

If that's the case, wouldn't it make more sense to score more? It would put pressure on Garrard to make plays, possibly causing some mistakes.

I hope we both win today. I like the suggestion that someone had where the "winner" of the game next week gets a shot at Bush.

Yes, but they want the defense on the field as little as possible. That way there are fewer opportunities to make a mistake and the defense stays fresher. However, a team like the Jags can score quickly and often at times. That's what we have seen at the end of several games. Its part of the play to loose not too badly....................

*sigh

I'm not a big fan of us playing for the #1 pick, but I'd pretty hurt if y'all beat the Rams. Ah well.

agreed, but at least from what ive seen from both teams today is that nobody is gonna tank regardless of what some of our fans may want, so in essence i believe we will have a fair game...hope so anyway..good luck you guys im still lookin for our rookie to get his first TD pass.

maybe this is part of the Texans plan.. Carr was supposed to be calling the running plays (per houston chronicle)... and maybe this our "preseason" to evaluate Carr and his ability to read defenses .. last week it was him calling the plays (not the formation) this week he is to read the defenses on the run and audible ...

I believe this is a basically game film so we know whether or not Carr is the Qb of the future for the Texans (i.e. 8 million dollar bonus)
