Week 14: Texans vs. the bye

That would be a great idea for everyone… except the money thing :(

There’s no money missed, NFL is still playing 17 games. The draft has turned into one heck of an event. With the right planning and marketing….the trade deadline could be a much talked about event by both the media and fans. It also gives teams a better opportunity to work their acquisition(s) into the game plan. Could be a great time for coaching moves as well. There’d be a lot to talk about after 9 games are in the book.

I like it, it would also put every team on a level playing field with the bye break.

Play hell with getting the networks to disrupt their schedule like that

Only problem is, it would have to be one hell of an amazing "first event".

"KC just traded Mahomes to the Panthers for Young"

Some insane levels of hype and trades. Nobody wants to watch 3 hours of "scrubs" changing colors.

Owners could help, more than we know, to make it exciting…especially when you factor coaches also being on the block.

Really? They tune in to watch a 3 hour schedule release show.

Who are these cancers in the locker room?
Do an advantage/disadvantage chart per position group.... we've added some badasses (numbers/stats on the field) over the '24 offseason. How come we're actually playing WORSE than last year?
And no, the Texans aren't as good this year as they were last year (schedule aside, parity) ... that prairie dog has reared its head this year.

You didn't answer the question and I'm not saying you're wrong. I just want to know who you think the cancers are?

I would say that Stroud regressing/TheOL, Particularly the IOL./Lack of weapons are more to blame for what you're describing more than anything.

Bye week AAR:

Things that have gone most well this season:

1) Pass rush. They paid for Hunter to have an elite pass rushing duo paired with Anderson and those guys have absolutely done their part this season. Their presence has also helped the bargain bin DT additions like Settle and Edwards significantly outperform their contracts.

2) Mixon/Nico. These two are downright elite at their positions this year. Very happy they’re Texans. Just wish they both had not missed extended time this season.

Things that have disappointed me this season:

1) Offensive Line. The highly paid/drafted players are underperforming and getting worse with more time together in this system. They can’t pass protect at a level needed to beat teams consistently and they can’t run block when teams know the Texans need to run the ball. Bad all around.

2) Slowik/CJ sophomore slumps. Yes, this is tied to the OL to a point. But rookie QB/OC were able to rise above OL issues more consistently last season.

I think DeMeco could be a disappointment. Same with Caserio. No moves were made before that deadline. Except that we traded away Khalil. I know we’re past the deadline but we -are- still feeling the recuperations from those during this BYE week… and who do we desperately need right now? KHALIL!
