Week 11 @ Houston North

Considering there's 7 ex-Texans on the Titans roster, 2 on the practice squad, and their HC.

Texans double digit dogs for the 6th time in 10 games. Don't know what the record is, but that's pretty bad.
But, beware of the double digit division dog. And the Texans are 4-5 against the spread.

Titans averaged 147 rushing yards per game in their 1st 8 games with Henry. 67.5 yards in 2 games without him.

A.J. Brown, however, a T.Y. Hilton 2.0 when playing the Texans. 3 of 4 games 110+ yards, at least 1 TD in all 4 games, and the 1 game he didn't have 100 yards receiving he had 2 TDs.

There's no point in getting serious about this team right now. They're pathetic and there's nothing that can be done about it presently. It's going to take several drafts and off-seasons to get this team back in shape. If that can even happen with the current administration.

Sensitive fans should look elsewhere for a bit. Maybe attend a few Easterby lectures.

The real problem from the view in Nashville is that this is the kind of game that we usually don't come in and deliver a beat down. We let a weaker team hang around and by the middle of the 3rd quarter you're in a dogfight. That happened 7 weeks ago at the Jets game. We've not lost since and many of those games were down to the wire (including last week against the Saints with a backup QB). So are we finding ways to win? Yes. Can we come in and stomp opponents? Yes, see the recent Rams game. But we don't have a record of doing this against struggling teams for some reason.

Also, our offense has been decidedly off since the Derrick Henry injury, but it's not just a lack of an All Pro running back. Julio Jones is on IR and A.J. Brown's year has been up and down. We've been living off the defense forcing turnovers and giving us a short field in the last couple of weeks. The defense is on fire right now and covers up a lot of problems on the offensive side.

Considering that there is very little coming out of the past 2 draft classes, 2023 might be to soon.
I disagree with this post.

They got Black lock and Greenard who are really improving under Lovie and Collins/Lopez plus hopefully Mills pans out too and it looks to me like Jordan has potential. So they have gotten players out of the last couple of drafts.

You don’t have to worry about them playing down to the competition. My Texans are a complete dumpster juice. Shoots y’all can play your practice squad players and still come out victorious.

So you counted 6 players? Out of 2 draft years? Thank you. You just made my point for me.

This could be the trap game that the dog get its win of the year.
The Texans come to Nashville and beat the Titans.
The impossibility may happen this weekend.

And that's a stretch as it's doubtful that any of these guys can make an impact on a legitimate contender.
Right, that's best case scenario. No volume. And it has been back/back drafts that the Texans have turned their back on the UDFA market.

I do applaud Caserio for raiding the Raiders practice squad and picking up Morrissey (an UDFA). For the rest of the year, Nick should dump some of these worthless vets he signed on one year deals and start vulturing other teams practice squads for younger players. The Texans would have these guys rights for another 3 years (if they end up being valuable). Get smart and get younger.

6 players and that's missing the rd 1-2 picks this yr. Add Tunsil to the mix and I would say 7 players including 3 starters who appear to be improving and an all pro in Tunsil isn't to bad considering everything.

I try to look at the draft like this, if you can find 1 impact player and 2 good starters out of each draft then you've had a good draft. (Within the 1st two yrs.) The rest of the guys you hope can develop into solid starters but if not atleast form a good ST's corps. It's a homerun if you find an immediate starter after the 3rd rd and a grand slam if you a differencemaker after the 3rd rd.

So considering the lack of draft picks I would say that a decent job has been done by my standards. Hopefully Caserio can add four top 100 players in the upcoming draft that will increase the talent level.

What were your expectations for the last draft and what are your expectations for the upcoming draft?

You realize that's already happening. The Titans so far have played 82 players this season. That's just 2 players shy of the league record from last year and 2019 and we're only 10 weeks in.

If you can only get 3 starters (providing you have the normal 7 picks per draft), how long before you can field a tem of 22.
That's not even counting that you often need a pick to find a legit kicker, a legit punter, and a couple of core special team players.

Nobody is starting 22 players they drafted

And we should also note that a FA has got to come from somewhere.
Are you expecting that you can get other teams to develop those FAs and give it to you for free?

Now teams that have a Brady, Mahomes, Rodgers, or the equivalence on the defensive side, those type of guys that can attract a FA, but that means that those teams were able to find a real difference maker in the first place.

Then you add the fact that, especially with a 17-game season, some of your starters could go down.

And the fact that a team may need a solid backup QB, second back, another receiver/TE, a swing tackle, an additional slot DB, a third safety, a couple of rotational guys on the D-line (maybe a pass rush specialist)...

3 starters out of a draft won't cut it nowadays.

If the Texans want to focus on one thing they could count as a victory versus the Titans…..stop Henry and see if they can hold him under 70 yards. As the old saying goes, “win the battle but lose the war”.

With Peterson getting into shape. It will be interesting to see how many business decisions are made by the defensive players. In other words, with Peterson coming around the corner, does Lonnie Johnson run out of bounds?
After watching LoJo the last couple of yrs, I think we know the answer to this question. It's the reason LoJo got moved back to CB from S. Gotta be able to tackle if you're going to be the last line of defense and LoJo wanted no part of that. In addition to being so dumb and blowing assignments.

After that preseason game in which Lonnie blew someone up and got fined for it, he hasn’t been the same. Lol what happened?

What about Hope.

On another note, growing up I knew a pair of sisters named Hope and Faith.
I keep hearing it floats, but I would rather nap on the couch than see it.

My sister inlaw's middle name is Faith but she prefers it to her first name.

I laughed when my wife pointed out her sisters initials were KFC....then in true fat boy fashion.... I got hungry.
