It's DEEP STEEL BLUE DAY!!!
Sunday, September 23.
Wear Blue.
Go Texans!!!

Ive Worn battle red 2 weeks in a row, I cant wear anything else or wash this shirt.......call me superstitious hahaha.

I'll definately wear blue. What I don't understand is why they chose the Colts game for fans to wear blue...

The deep steel blue is OUR color...screw the Colts. We don't let other teams dictate how we run things around here.

This "Wear Whatever Color" crap is lame. People, wear whatever jersey or whatever you want...Makes not a difference to anyone playing or whatever, but if it makes you all feel better about yourself as "FANS" go on ahead...I thought this was put to rest in the white jersey thread for oprning week.

It looks cool, support the team.....whatever..!!

Perhaps the same can be said about when to arrive and leave. I assume it makes not a difference to anyone playing whether fans are in their seats at kickoff to do the job they're paid to do? Somehow, that just doesn't sound right, but whatever!

You need to try harder if you want to be a good bandwagon fan! :victory:

Nothing got "put to rest". We just got tired of talking to you.
The Texans request that we wear Blue. I will.
It could be the start of a fun tradition, that's all. But, I guess we'll never know, because some people just have to be individuals, but hey, that's America.
I say to you all; Never say rude things to another Texan fans no matter what he or she wears. You do not know their circumstances.
What I do request is that if you are bringing some fun friends, who want to participate in what the Texans ask you to do, and we'd all be DEEP STEEL BLUE, then pass this along to them folks! They may not know yet.
Spread the word!!!!!!!!!!

The Texans are supposedly wearing the same uni's they wore for the last years win over the Colts...hence the desire for everyone to wear blue.

I will be wearing blue, but these threads saying what to wear, please. We are grown people here. We know what color the Texans want fans to wear, just read the tickets as most people do..
And if we do as the Texans ask all the time, why not ask the Texans to do stuff we ask and see if they will be a part of our fun traditions..What's good for one must be good for the other.

They should have waited for it to cool off to wear steel blue. We should have gone with white again thats what we've been winning with...in the words of stevie wonder..."very superstitious":texflag:

Hobie...I'm with you on this one. I can take a look at the tickets to see what color I am supposed to wear. Besides...as long as I am wearing Texans colors, it should not matter what color I choose to wear. I appreciate everyone trying to get into the spirit of the game, but as long as I wear Texans colors, I am not any less of a fan.

I ALMOST agree. Not sure if the tickets make it clear, but it's my understanding there are three games that the FO is promoting:

1. Liberty White Kickoff, wear white
2. Whatever they're calling Sunday, wear blue
3. Battle red day, wear red

Not sure if those three games are specifically being advertised to the fans or not. Other than that, I agree with wear anything that resembles our team colors. Only because the white out looked cool, a blue out and red out (is there such thing) would also be cool.

I wear blue anyway, but in times like this I always think What Will Bob Wear? I honestly do not know, but I bet it ain't going to be a steel blue suit and it ain't for sale here in Austin.

Maybe you should try actually going to a game . Then you will see the masses all coordinated in whichever color the TEAM chooses. Think about being in a hostile environment and being surrounded by a mass of whichever color, and you will understand the psychological impact it has. If you don't believe this try going thru 5th ward on a Saturday night, or Jasper depending on your ethnic persuasion.
Now go buy a blue jersey and support your team!!!!!!! :texflag: :fans: :fans: :fans: :fans: :texflag:

I have played, coached and managed in arenas in the 15k range with fans wearing similar colors and it was really frightening. However, the noise and verbal assaults were pretty inviting.

Some fans going to their fist game may not know what color the team wants. Also, if they buy the ticket from a broker it won't say Deep Steel Blue Day on it. For these reasons, this thread is needed.

Some of the info on this board does not pertain to everyone. Don't get into a hissy if someone post a topic that helps others but not you.

If you know that it is Deep Steel Blue Day and you decide to wear Battle Red, don't get upset when people talk behind your back about how cheap you are not to have a shirt of themed colors.

Yell for the defense and be quiet for the offense. That's what being a Texans fan is all about. :fans:

Pro ball players are not intimidated by color coordination. I wish that little nugget of marketing myth would cease to exist.

If wearing the theme day requests floats your boat, then have at it. Nothing wrong with it. But it doesn't elevate anyone above anyone else. JMO.

Just be loud, proud, & Texan!! :texflag:

So you are upset because of a simple reminder to do what the tickets are saying??? I for one don't hold my tickets, and cant read what they say prior to game day.

So we are supposed to respect your wishes and opinion on this situation and not post about it? And prevent the excited fan simply giving a friendly reminder to the other fans around here who may need that reminder on the events that are taking place this Sunday?

Simple solution.... DON'T CLICK ON THE LINK NEXT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

True - but it sure looks cool.

In years' past, the best we could do is look cool following our QB's lead, of course. Now, we need to be loud - really loud.:pirate:

Arrive when you want, leave when you want, wear what you want, yell if you want, stand if you want, sit if you want, take 10 trips to the restroom if you want. If I left anything out, then that too. However you choose to support the team, do your thing! Go Texans!

A very good point. Many fans get tickets second hand. Pass the word to your group/friends/fellow fans that most of us will wear the Blue. They may feel left out that they could have participated, but did not know.
"Hey, why didn't you tell me?!" :shades:

In their current 4 game winning streak, 3 of those wins were in the blue shirts.
Indy-blue
Cleveland-blue
KC-white
Carolina-blue

And what are we to do for the Dolphins game? Will there be a thread letting us know what color to wear? What color will it be? Do we wear green to support Ahman Green? Do we dress in whatever color parking lot we're in?

OK, I've got it. From the 50 yard line to the north endzone, everybody wear red, and from the 50 to the south endzone everyone's in blue.

Ooh, how 'bout Gridiron, TX in red, the club section in white, and the lower bowl in blue?

Or you could do whatever the hell you want and let people be fans the way THEY want and not the way YOU want. Just a thought.
