Yeah. This is Houston Fans wrapped up in a nutshell. For 10 years they've tried to nickname a defense that sucked.....then the defense comes alive bigtime, give themselves a nickname, go out and shutdown a high caliber offense and that's not good enough. Not good enough = Texans' fans in a nutshell. Everything is not good enough.

Bulls on Parade means a bull made of flowers rolling down a city street mid-tickertape parade to you then you need to pull away from the computer screen and see what the rest of the world has to offer you.

I'm all for the imagery of our guys stampeding over opposing offenses, but the Texans marketing department started using "The Running of the Bulls" years ago for their Fun Run.

There's no interpretation problem there. That's pretty moo-cows on parade followed by two pics of the running of the bulls which has nothing to do with parades.

As politically motivated as Rage is I find it really hard to bend the drivel de la Rocha spews out around enough to “name” our defense when the song is actually them whining about politics/ war crap.

I'm sure we can be all, "No, you guys are using it all wrong. The name refers to the socialistic Rage against the Machine song with the same title."

& they'll be, "Oh, thank you for pointing that out. Let me find something else more appropriate to make fun of."

Hell no, you'll see pictures of Brian Cushing, Brooks Reed, & Antonio Smith wearing Tutu's for years to come.

It's ridiculous.

If they want to adopt that as their theme song.... great, I'll jam along when I hear it at Reliant, I'll think about them when I hear it on the radio, I'll make it my freak'n ringtone for Mario Williams.

But I'm not calling the Texans' defense Bulls on Parade.

Imo I don't think the name is "Gay". I also don't think it fits as a name for our Defense.
 
As a fairly new member to this board I was glad to read through this thread to be honest.

I learned that too many people fake being offended by the use of words like gay.
I learned that we are really way too focused on giving our towns defense a nickname.
I learned about some music, I learned about the true definition of parade.

I am a bit confused about some people freaking out about the misuse of the word Parade and giving out its origins while at the same not reading up on the origins of the word gay and giving poor negative repped Grams the benefit of the doubt for using a word that in most social circles is still used to talk **** to friends.

Anyways, the fireplace is almost out of wood I have to go toss in another ******. Good thread through.

I'm not sure which offends me more, the fact that there's gayness, or the fact that you've chosen to parade it in such a manner.

Also, the phrase "talk ****" gives me a bad taste in my mouth.

Now, please stay on topic, and help us think of a name for the defense.
It's very important, as we all know.

Additionally, successfully naming the defense might be the only way you can atone for your aforementioned gayness.

You simply need to supply the disclaimer "not that there's anything wrong with that" immediately after the statement, and everything's good.
