We Can Be PROUD

We will more than likely finish 8-8, but we have a lot to be proud of this season. We held Colts to lowest point total all season, Sacked Manning 4 times and only gave up 2 TD's when he needed 5 to break record.

We went to OT with Vikings and they held a commanding lead on us, we spotted Titans 3 TD's and yet won the game. We took Green Bay down to waning moments to beat us, We lost to San Diego by only 1 TD.

A few things here and there and 2004 Houston Texans are in playoffs, we will have to wait another year for this to happen. I see Defense playing like we had hoped all season, Offense seems to be cohesive and making plays. I am proud to be a Texans fan and am glad we have in our 3rd year gone from losing most of season to playing .500

I hope we go 8-8 :). That will mean alot going into next season. I dont think Dom will let us regress.. so if we go 8-8.. id put money on a winning season next year, and a playoff spot to boot.

It has been a great year despite the low points, and it looks like the team has come around here at the end and again made progress and learned from their mistakes.

Next year is gonna be great.. I just dread the looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg wait until the draft.

I swear.. we need to figure out a way to have year round football :).

I agree Grid, what am i going to do without football???????????? :hairpull:

I think that most agreed (about 60 to 70%) that the Texans were gonna win 6 to 8 games this year. I am very happy with the season aside from the two blow outs by Indianappolis (the first game) and then Denver the following week. Those two games were the low points in the season for me. I was ripping the Defense, and Babin, and Walker, and Smith, and everyone. I was thinking "man we have got to fix this problem - this just cannot happen." But the team recovered it seemed, emotionally, when they came back home and played the Packers well in that Sunday nighter. It was from that point that the Texans started to play better defensively. jmho

We will likely be picking in the 15th to 18th range in April's NFL Draft depending on Sundays outcomes. We are desperate for a guy who can put pressure on the QB, we are desperate for some offensive line help, we need to upgrade at runningback (not to supplant Dominick but to add depth there), we need a tight end that can stay off of injured reserve, we need a more versatile Will LB to compete head-to-head with Foreman for the starting job, we will need a QB to replace Banks when he leaves (sign a veteran free agent I hope - Ragone is not the answer for a #2) and we will need to draft a true free safety to eventually replace Coleman. UUGGH - where do we start? And am I missing or over stating anything?

You guys showed alot of heart, and really some great talent this year. You snapped the 2 in a row jinx, which really eliminated the last hurdle you have against you. As the talent grows and gels, you will be a force to recon with. How bout us and you guys in the AFC championship game next year? Sound good? We'll see you there...

Oh, sorry about this, but I will have to pull for Buffalo on that one :hmmm:

Like my sig says, "Talkin' Proud, Buffalo"... Feel free to alter it to suit your needs, and insert it in your own sig :coolb: :)

GL guys!!!

At this point the only thing you can do is state the needs and how high a priority it is. With no clear free agency and salary cap picture, you can't really make any real prognostication.

I think the 2 units that need the most immediate help are the Offensive line and the tight ends.

I the the 1 position on our roster with zero upside is the tight end position. Billy Miller is 1 dimensonal and undersized, Bruener is not a long term answer... Joppru at this point cannot be counted on to even make the roster.
