Watson cant play football

This goes against the NFL saying you can't buy extra cap space. The CBA, if the Browns get significant cap relief from Watson's absence is likely going to be carefully be reviewed at the next CBA.

I doubt the Browns will have any claim to use it beyond this season with Watson on the basis of injury, although this will not solve next year's problem of what to do with Watson. Besides, this injury is likely to further diminish his mobility, which in turn will likely even more affect his performance since he mostly thinks with his feet (and his nether parts).

Another thing is that it further complicates cutting Watson next year because it won't give any additional financial relief or real cap relief.

BTW, insurance companies never really lose money on payouts..........they recoup them in many ways. Most policies are written year-to-year..............steep increase for Watson if re-insured...........may not even agree to.

Since we live in the day and age of the conspiracy theory…..

How about that Haslam sat Watson down and said it might be better if you hurt your leg.
They'd have to get too many people involved in the conspiracy. It would be easier to blame back spasms... hamstring... something where the only indication is the players word.

No more people involved than a quarterback being sent back on the field after taking a devastating double tap to the turf with his head.

I was thinking about this...............Insurances aren't dumb.....................The insurance company probably agreed at most to insure his salary for 2024 based on what his originally contracted salary was to be for that season BEFORE anything was ever restructured/rolled over annually.....................a sum markedly less than for what was cumulative each season over the years of restructuring. Furthermore, on insurance policies like this, an insurance company would not insure for "total" real replacement cost, rather for a percentage of that cost.

I'm not condoning booing, or is it cheering, players that are injured, but FUCK these multi-millionaire asshole athletes with their disdain for fans who spend fortunes to watch these trash ass players in person. And if it weren't for the multi-millions a douche like Watson makes, he wouldn't be able to afford lawyers like Rusty Hardin to get him out of his shitshow and he wouldn't be in the NFL anymore to begin with. So Jameis, Myles, LeBron, and anyone else defending this predator like he's some kind of f***ing saint, go f*** yourselves.

"I'm disappointed that it's only X number of games that he's able to play this season," coach Kevin Stefanski said. "But I do think we know what he's about. I know what he brings to the table for this football team."
The day after Watson's injury, Stefanski avoided answering questions about his standing as the starter when healthy. It was a stark contrast from a coach who just weeks ago had championed Watson as the franchise's best option at quarterback.

"This is a tough break for him, but I know he will bounce back," Stefanski said. "He's been a great contributor to this football team, both in the locker room, on the practice field, on the game field, and we'll just support him as he rehabs from that injury."
