Watch the games on your computer?

I noticed last year that there were sites that you could go and watch NFL games from your computer. I couldn't do that because I've been on dial-up for the last few years, but I'm finally getting hi-speed internet. I was wondering how I could watch the games from my computer, I know there are sites that had the games on it last year. Anyone know of any good sites to do that or where I could purchase a package (Dish Network doesn't carry a NFL package). Thanks for any help guys :thumbup

Are you sure? I looked into it last year and the only online viewing I could find was for overseas only. It blocked U.S. IP addresses. If you find something, please let me know.

Nevermind, I just found it. You need a peer-to-peer program like TVU player (just search google to download it) and hopefully this year getting people to stream the game won't be a problem (I'm not sure how often the games were streamed last year). You can check the schedule around the football season to check and see what games are on here: http://www.myp2p.eu/index.htm

What I found that really got me excited were sites where you could download torrent files for NFL games after they had been played. For years I'd been looking for something like that. I don't know whose making these DivX files but they're clear and they're small. The only thing I found that was annoying was that often the Texans are at the mercy of the schedule.

Nobody out there (outside of a relatively small group of Texans fans) is interested in recording and then encoding a Texans game. If we were playing another losing team there usually wouldn't be a torrent of the game that I could find. If we were playing a high-profile opponent though it was usually there.

I live in Dallas and have a slingbox hooked up at my parents in Houston. It serves its purpose for getting me the Texans game that aren't televised locally in Dallas without having spend money on the NFL ticket. The quality is a bit choppy on my TV, but it does its job well.

I wonder if it's possible to get DirecTV to send me Houston's local stations even when I'm in Seattle during the last half of the season. :shades:

Isn't DTV hooked up to your phone line? I always assumed thats how they new what 'area' they could broadcast to you. I guess I could be wrong. I use cable...so this is purely speculation.

If this is the case...why not sign up for a Vonage phone #. I believe you can use any phone # you want. Get a Houston #, use it in Seattle.

I found this, but it is for people outside of the US. All you have to do is hide your IP address though and you can get it. It's the same price as NFL Sunday Ticket.

What if I made a new yahoo email address and shared it with you guys and whoever wants to see it we could split up the cost of the package? That way if 10 of us wanted to get together and do it, it would be $25 each. Would that work? Just an idea for all of us who can't catch the games.
