Vince Young dropped again

geofb

Waterboy
Looks like Vince Young dropped a couple more spots in the last few days. He's now only 3 spots ahead of Cutler and behind his own teammate at UT. Source is ESPN NFL draft page. There likely will be some major crow eating by the draft Young crowd on this board in the months/years ahead.

Scouts Inc.'s Top 32
Player Class Pos. School
1. Reggie Bush Jr. RB USC
2. Mario Williams Jr. DE N.C. State
3. Matt Leinart Sr. QB USC
4. D'Brickashaw Ferguson Sr. OT Virginia
5. A.J. Hawk Sr. LB Ohio State
6. Vernon Davis Jr. TE Maryland
7. Michael Huff Sr. DB Texas
8. Winston Justice Jr. OT USC
9. Vince Young Jr. QB Texas
10. Haloti Ngata Jr. DT Oregon
11. Brockrick Bunkley Sr. DT Florida St.
12. Jay Cutler Sr. QB Vanderbilt

Hmm... a lot of the Mock drafts ive seen now show Cutler ahead of Vince. I thought it was interesting though that the ESPN Mock Draft Version 6.0 shows Vince Young going to the Lions. I think it would be kindof strange to have signed 4 QBs in the same offseason, one of which who has so much hype around him. I see VY going to the Raiders, but thats only an opinion. We'll see on Draft Day.

I don't get it. Does bashing the guy in every thread make you guys feel better about the Texans drafting Reggie Bush? Does it make you guys feel better about keeping David Carr?

Reggie Bush to the Texans is a foregone conclusion. How does bashing VY help further the cause?

Aren't the Lions the team that has three 1st rnd recievers on their roster? Why not stockpile QB's? I saw someone on ESPN saying the Saints still might take Lienert and Young might still go third to Tenn. Everyones trying to figure out the other guys cards.

I would take him in the draft if he slipped to pick 33. And the way he keeps dropping it just might happen. :yahoo:

Just leveling out the Bush bashing by the VY supporters.:)

That's funny, most of the VY supporters I know like Bush and think he' s an outstanding player as well. They just like VY better. I know this seems unfathomable to some.

:twocents:

The overall vibe I get from the board is that everyone is cool with getting Bush. I've only seen one guy dog him out, but even he said he'd buy Bush's jersey after the draft.

The bottom line is that nobody should have to bash a guy to make their guy look better.

----NEWS FLASH----

This just in: The writers of the ESPN NFL draft page will NOT make any picks for any of the 32 professional football teams.

 Glad we cleared that up!

Honestly, this is just sensationalized journalism at its finest. They want readers, and the best way is to create controversy.

I hope Young get picked in the top three just to spite all these naysayers.

Seriously ... I think a bit much is being made of this. This is like weather forecasting, with less accuracy. Except for no one sits around and talks about the weather like we do the NFL draft. Okay, so bad analogy, but point is, it's just some guys' predictions. They've been wrong before, and will again.

What? There is a thread bashing Reggies choice in Cars? I don't think many of the post are meant to attack the players, but rather raise a ruckus and billboard someones opinions.

So you're not "anti-Vince Young", yet you'll start a speculation thread that he's falling to 33rd in the draft?

Ohhhh, I get it - sarcasm. :ok:

Who cares where he goes in the draft if he becomes a sensation player within 3 years. It's just going to make more teams look inept...

I don't think most of us who don't want VY have "a guy". This is such a good draft that I just want to make sure that we draft someone that can help us win in the next three years and unless VY is going to play WR I don't see him helping.

Most of the resentment and anymosity has nothing to do with VY. It eminates out of frustration with the VY fans on this board. How many "Bush" or "Mario" guys have actually threatened to no longer be a fan of the Texans if they don't draft Bush or Mario Williams? It's been common with the VY crowd!

Over what, his draft status?

Give me a player that drops in the draft and has a successful career over the player picked in the top 3 that flops any day.

There's still an equal chance the don't draft Young crowd will end up eating crow as well. We're just not dumb enough to single them out.

Most of you that don't want Vince don't have a brain. VY is not a WR. You sir don't know of what you speak.....

Fans who joined the board in the off-season, threatened to boycott, and then stopped posting don't necessarily speak for the pro-VY crowd (and really aren't fans anyway.) Just like the people that just came out of the woodwork since the USC Pro Day just to dog out VY aren't really indicative of the RB crowd.

So we might as well call it what it is. Trolling.

In the RB vs. VY debate, there is nothing new to say. All arguments are null and void now since it's obvious which direction the team is going.

I'm aware that he's not a WR, but he sure the heck could be... and he'd be a damn good one too. The man has incredible ability. Randle El and Hines Ward were college QB too. Are those teams stupid for having them play WR?

What I don't want is a project with the first pick in the draft. It took Vince Young three years in college to become a good college QB. How long do you think it will take the guy to get a handle on quarterbacking in the NFL?

No doubt, especially considering where Tom Brady (sixth round / 199th overall) and Joe Montana (third round / 82nd overall) were picked in the draft.

I'm not saying that VY is up there with one of those dudes, but whatever team gets him will most likely have a great player.

I still think he'll go in the top 10, just off his Rose Bowl performance alone.

I think it is kind of a toss up now between Cutler and Vince and it totally depends on what team is in a position to draft them and what type of QB they want for their offense. I personally have Vince falling to the Cardinals, and I think that is about the best situation he could end up in from the standpoint of his career.

You raise an interesting point, would the Vince Young lovers rather he go #3 to a bad Titans team or fall farther in the draft and end up on a better team where he has the chance to improve more and step in to a better lineup?
