Vernon Davis to Broncos

Smart move. I love OD, but he's about as consistent as Arian Foster health wise.
 
I think Denver won this on paper. Reason being I have no faith in the Niner front office in that they will grab a diamond in the rough in any of the picks they got. On the other hand, Davis is 31 and his contract was up. Good luck to SF to draft smart.
 
I don't know how Elway keeps adding so much talent to that roster over the last three years. He just keeps loading that roster up to where I'm thinking that he won't be able to afford anyone else, and he's reeling in some other quality upgrade FA next. Whoever is crunching their numbers and structuring all of their deals in the back rooms is doing one hell of a job.
 
Seems like quite a deal for Denver after reading up on it. Denver's 6th rounder will be pretty near the 7th that they got in return in this draft, and if Vernon leaves after the season, Denver could be eligible for a compensatory pick, essentially getting their future pick back.

It was a total steal. If it doesn't work out well for them, who cares. 6th rounders. It irritates me that the Texans are never taking advantage of opportunities like this and never will with Smith.
