UT Vs OSU

But will the 'Horns get the same calls in Lubbock next week they got in Austin, and surprisingly in what was thought to be a neutral site vs. the Sooners ?

The officiating was equally bad on both sides for that OU/UT game. I didn't notice any kind of bias in yesterday's game. You really think the referees have an agenda to help UT?

Actually, it wouldn't be because even if TAMU wins - they still live in College Station, and I still live in beautiful Austin, Texas.

Also - TAMU's best ball wouldn't beat a half effort by this Longhorn team. I'm not the least bit afraid of that game (I was last year and the year before), and I'm also not afraid of jinxing it. I'll walk under ladders all day long wearing my Longhorn gear - I'd be more afraid of a game against the Houston Cougars.

Eh, I've seen Austin... I wasn't impressed. To your credit, though, I am not really impressed with Texas in general as far as looks go.

Hahaha, I hope that Mack Brown and his Texas team think just like you do. Overlooking the Ags could give us the edge we need to pull off the W. The more you reduce the A&M team, the worse that loss will be for you.

You can bet your ass Brown remembers the last time a mediocre A&M team beat his Horns .... ugh.

I'm still pissed I missed the UT game yesterday. Damn kids, pissing me off and making me take double blood pressure meds.. makes me comatose for 12 hrs or so. So, I woke up at like 11:45 pm. And the wife wants more kids... HA!

That's not the question. The question is how much juice do these guys have left in the tank ? They were clearly down and lethargic against OSU. They found a way to get it done. I'm sure in the past some team has faced a murders row of games like the horns have. But I don't remember it. It's got to be before my time. If they get by tech & A & M, they've still got the championship game. And then play Penn St. or bama if the BCS holds. If they can do all of that....just wow. I won't live to see anything like it happen again.

The 2 personal fouls on OU players who just barely tapped McCoy when he was going out of bounds were some of the more blatanly bad calls I've seen in recent years. And that was 2 calls, not just one. And they were very critical, very instrumental in that game.
With respect to the game vs O-State in Austin Saturday, there was one pass interferance call in particular which was IMO a bad call that went against the 'Pokes. It also could have been very significant in the games outcome.
I certaily hope the refs aren't crooked, but frankly few things would surprise me after the recent problem with the NBA refs. After all, we know there's a lot of money, a lot of wagering with these big college football games.

And that OU punter really got blasted on that roughing penalty didn't he? Right.

The PI call on Okie St was a bad call. But Beasley on Texas got called for a BS pass interference too. Consider it equal.

People blaming the outcome of games on refs is pathetic. You should just hold up a flag that says "You're team is better than mine & I have no argument to oppose that so I'm just gonna cry about officiating."

i was so proud of my cowboys......it wasn't a runaway game and it was exciting...i was the only OSU orange at wild wing cafe.....i was pissed when i left because someone tried to be funny and turn my OSU hitch cover upside down but they broke it instead :foottap:

Texas definitely didn't play their best game.

On Defense:

The DL occupied blockers on runs & rushed the passer very well.

The LB's sucked. Norton was out of position constantly & Muckelroy got owned by Pettigrew all day. Kindle is sub-par in pass coverage & has no idea how to play leverage against the option.

The CB's were great. The safeties not so much. Thomas made a nice play by forcing the fumble on Hunter, but other than that he was average. Gideon played to his responsibilities but missed too many tackles.

On Offense:

The OL was pretty good in pass protection but opened up few holes in the running game.

The RB's were sub-par as a whole. McGee had a decent game. Ogbonnaya didn't run well & he missed a few blocks in pass protection. He was very active in the passing game though.

The WR's were poor......except for Cosby & Shipley. Two dropped passes by the young kids. Cosby played a great game. Shipley is probably guaranteed 1st team all conference after this game.

At QB, Colt did what he has done all year. Controlled the clock with the short passing game. He threw one bad pass & paid the price. He also fumbled the ball trying to fight for extra yards on a sack. Can't really fault him on that one, but when three guys are on you....just go down.

Overall, Okie St is just a very good team. But they are not as good as Texas. The better team won, but I think Okie St could be the second-best team in the conference. We will find out when they play Oklahoma.

Just for the record.....Mike Mayock of NFLn....his words not mine...stated last night that he thought OSU should hold the number four spot over Oklahoma. He believes they are clearly the better team. As you post, we'll find out at bedlam.

Anyway here's hoping for a big wind Saturday.

One other thing....I sure hope we get the non gay directors for the game from the ABC crowd. Not picking up the TT twirler/flag gurls after they score would be a sin. Those are the hardest working gurls in college football. America needs to see them. Hell, I need to see them.
