UT Vs OSU

Not going to throw a score out, but it will be a much tougher game then the Mizzou game was IMO. OSU has a pretty good triple threat with Bryant(WR), Hunter(RB), and Robinson(QB).

I think the key will be stopping Kendall Hunter from breaking the big runs he has been racking up this year.

And yes, Texas will win!

I don't think it will be too close for long. The difference between Missouri and Texas is that Missouri has a marginally better defense than Texas Tech. Texas can get after the QB and has the athletes on defense to stack up with the WR's. Also, the game is in Austin, and that will be much different than Missouri. I think UT wins be 14+
 
thanks to the wonder of DVR , I will be watching the game at 8pm thanks to Little League obligations. Sadly, I will probably hear the score during the day there. I need to get some earplugs between games.
 
Sooner or later the also rans from Oklahoma State are going to rise up and Bite Bevo in the a$$. There are only so many close calls before a group of guys from OSU rises up and closes the deal. And these guys, the cowboys have been very close before. I won't breath an easy breath until the final gun. I remember when they still used the gun ? I'm getting old.
 
Colt McCoy has made a believer out of me.

Anyone know how the scouts rank him at the next level?
 
Two consecutive 90+ yards drives result in UT touchdowns ..... 14-0 UT .



That OSU offense looks very capable tho.
 
after an INT and a fumble on consecutive possessions by McCoy the Horns get a huge stop on 4th and 6with just over 2 minutes remaining.


Follow that up with a huge 3rd and 9 conversion by the Horns with 1:42 remaining putting them 1st and goal inside the OSU 10.
 
35 seconds remain , OSU stops UT 4th and goal at the 1 ..... No time outs and 99 yards from the lead.
 
Texas needed a game like this. Tough and tight, one they easily could have lost... much better than a blowout going into their toughest game next week.
 
Game over .... 28-24 UT. Good gameplan by Brown , kept OSU's offense off the field quite a bit. If not for the two turnovers in the 4th quarter its not as close as the final score indicates.


Texas Tech put up 63 today @ Kansas in a 63-21 route ..... next week in Lubbock will be a real shootout for all the marbles in the Big 12 South. Tech finishes the season with home games against Texas and Oklahoma St. then @ Oklahoma and home again for Baylor ..... talk about a tough stretch.

I figured it would be a close game .... but also thought it would feature a few more scores. I agree UT needed to fight for one rather than blow someone out .... Tech at home will be no joke , didnt the Horns lose to TT last season ? (@ home)
 
So here it is: Texas has Tech (in Lubbock), Baylor @ Austin, @KU, and then A&M in Austin. They MUST win next week. A victory next week(and I assume a W against baylor) means that Texas needs to win only 1 of the last 2 to get to the Big XII Championship game. Both wins guarantees a shot at the Natl Championship. So, this is a HUGE game. D needs to get up and COlt needs to hold onto that ball.

Today was a squeaker. Next week will be a BIG test.

I gotta say I think this was the toughest game remaining for the Horns as far as the talent on the other team. OSU has some very solid players offensively in TE Pettigrew RB Hunter and WR D.Bryant. Their QB is solid tho not outstanding and the team is well coached. I wouldnt want to have to face that team again.


Tech .... I think rely more on their system than athletic ability .... But being in Lubbock makes this another tough game.

Oklahoma vs Oklahoma St. to finish the season is going to be one hell of a game.
 
I felt today was the must win game as Tech still has Ok St and @OU after UT next week. I feel we could still be tripped up by KU or TAMU, but owning that tie breaker against both OU and Ok St is huge. With even one loss and a Big 12 Championship UT gets into the title game in my opinion.
 
I'm most worried about KU. TAMU is beyond a joke at this point, and I think Texas will be ready for their awaiting shootout at TT.

I remember a couple years back KU knocking UT out of the big 12 title game .... Their schedule from OU to KU has been one of the toughest I can ever recall. Five ranked teams in a row .... Four of those having been in the top 10 at some point in the season. Two of those top 3.

OU was #1 , Mizzou #3 , OSU #6 , TT has been as high as #6. I think KU has been as high as 16. If they finish the season undefeated , they damn sure earned the right to play for the title.
 
Other than the two mess ups at the end Colt had a great game and is the true leader of this team.

The funny part about that is, A&M has beaten Texas two years in a row. If I were a Longhorn fan I would be more worried about that game than the others, because the consequences of a loss at home to A&M again would be disastrous this season.

Yea, which is EXACTLY why you should be afraid of that game. TAMU usually plays their best ball against Texas, and if we beat #1 Texas in Austin after the season we are having, it may be the worst event in Longhorn history.
 
Actually, it wouldn't be because even if TAMU wins - they still live in College Station, and I still live in beautiful Austin, Texas.

Also - TAMU's best ball wouldn't beat a half effort by this Longhorn team. I'm not the least bit afraid of that game (I was last year and the year before), and I'm also not afraid of jinxing it. I'll walk under ladders all day long wearing my Longhorn gear - I'd be more afraid of a game against the Houston Cougars.
 
As a UT fan, we should never overlook the Aggies, especially when their season shapes up to be a one game season as it is now.

Yep .... Beat UT and their season is a success .... no matter how much suckage they put out in the other games.
 
I have to concur with the feeling that Texas will handle TT next week, and I believe that Texas is almost a lock for the Orange Bowl. Coming off consecutive wins in huge national championship-picture games, Oklahoma State seemed like the game that Texas was most likely to give away. Gundy has a talented team and a great running offense. If he'd stuck with Kendall Hunter and stopped throwing the ball I think they could've pulled off the upset. Regardless, Texas got the job done. Tech doesn't have the muscle at the line of scrimmage or the running backs to punch Texas in the face.
 
I'm not assuming ANYTHING (except for the TAMU game) as long as Colt McCoy is our greatest rushing threat. That's a dangerous game.

I am terrified of Tech, worried about KU, and dreading A&M. A&M always seems to be in the right place at the right time be it for good bounces or ints. They then cash those in and use their D to do just enough. Its a rival game. Rival games are NEVER easy.
